Was TSA a filter that separated the actual Sudachads from the "lmao lightsaber guy say funny and use toilet" crowd?
The Suda filter
>Was TSA a filter that separated the actual Sudachads from the "lmao lightsaber guy say funny and use toilet" crowd?
Basically what your asking is, is Travis Strikes Again to No More Heroes what The Return is to Twin Peaks
Yes
I never got a chance to play this but I will after I finish 1 and 2 again.
unironically the best NMH game and his best work to date. It's bursting with inventive ideas and fantastic writing.
been playing thru all of suda's games, the silver case ones, killer7, got cockblocked by no wiimote to play NMH1/2 so the re-release has been a godsend for me. ive got TSA on the backburner as soon as I beat these, im about to do the last fight (maybe) in NMH1.
any other suda game i should play before TSA? i know there's shadows of the damned but idk if ill have a way to actually play it.
To me it's broader than that and is simply the age-old filter of fixed overhead camera vs controllable behind the back one.
It's the video game equivalent of "The Wall"
Absolutely. It is the best NMH game, and one of Suda's best games period.

still need to get both of its dlcs but I really enjoyed it and i didnt even play any NMH games prior.
Going through NMH1 and 2 right now then playing TSA with the dlc afterwards.
Flower Sun and Rain, but the DS version can be an eyesore and is the only localized version. There's a walkthrough on Youtube that uses footage from both the PS2 version and english DS version.
I hope that remaster Suda keeps bringing up happens cause its one of my favorite stories Suda's done and it has important info on some things for the other games.
i read a summary on FSR because i TRIED to play it and holy fuck i just could not cope, it was awful and not very fun
tfw no Dorohedoro game by Suda
Just about to buy all 3 games on switch. What am I in for?
The good kind of cringe
High amounts of soul and KiNO
The best main character in videogame history
This
after playing every Suda game beforehand, yes. It was the most SOUL I felt in game in a very long time.
i like the aesthetics but i couldn't finish it because of the incredibly terrible combat especially the shaking your controller to reload your lightsaber was just so annoying
TSA had an amazing soundtrack and writing but the gameplay itself is nothing special.
posting best boss theme.

I enjoyed Silver Case through its 6 orphanage towers and Flower Sun Rain through its "we're going to make you run to this corn field 5 times" chapters.
But people who defend TSA's core combat confuse me. It's bad. The pacing is bad. The levels are slogs. Not sure what people get out of it. I tolerated the combat for the high points, that's about it.
I honestly hate the punk artstyle in TSA. I played FSR when it first came out and the ending confused me, but after playing the Silver Case and 25th Ward earlier this year I am glad that I played it first. Plus the soundtrack to FSR is amazing, especially the DS version of Welcome to Lospass.
TSA has amazing combat during the bosses. Your skills actually work on them and they play more as freeform back and forths (like the best of DMC bosses such as Berial and Credo). I could fight doppleganger all day.
t. someone who plays at level 1
It is absolutely the worst game I played last year
>I am glad that I played it first.
why? I also played it without playing TSC but I've already forgotten everything but the broad strokes
>Dude you like to suck my dick then you prease buy TSA I got so many references and memes about my works!
There's nothing more I hate than devs wanking themselves off
The point when the NMH theme partially kicks in and the final conversation with her had way more of an impact than I was expecting.
>GAMEPLAY
NMH2 > NMH >>> TSA

NMH2 > NMH >>> TSA
>BOSS FIGHTS
???
>BOSSFIGHTS
As someone who just finished slagging off TSA's core combat, I'd rank them
TSA > NMH > NMH2
Every boss in NMH2 is pretty lame, game-design wise. They have a vulnerability telegraph and the rest of your time is fucking around waiting for them to trigger it.
NMH bosses are good when they're trying to be good, but there's a lot of gimmick bosses/non-bosses. Stuff like the final boss disabling your wrestling counters was more annoying than cool. Being able to Dark Step Dr. Peace's "fuck off" bullet, stuff like that is a neat detail.
TSA bosses are weird, different, and nearly a constant barrage of to-and-fro from player to boss. The only ones with an invulnerability phase at all are the first boss and Silver Face, IIRC, but they're aggressive enough to where they don't need it.
>level 1
based as fuck
you better have been getting those SS ranks, son
except for Juvenile, who may actually be impossible to SS at level 1
you need to listen to more of the TSA soundtrack, friend
