I like it, it's fun.
it's pretty alright but the best part of it is just putting on some nice music and getting immersed, looking at the sunrise and feeling feelings that are hard to feel for a lot of people
that and the quotes are funny
best game theyve made in years
So far I’ve only played a little bit of it. After the gang sets up camp near Valentine I started forgetting the names of everyone which made the story and missions impossible to follow. I also don’t like how you can’t tell which mission is a side mission and which one is a main story mission. I took a break from it but I’ll try it again soon. Saint Denis also looks amazing. If every town looked like Saint Denis it would do wonders for the tourism industry
Like Witcher 3, the pinnacle of a 6/10 game
>Awful Gameplay
>Excellent Soundtrack
>Terrible on-rails missions
>Characters good enough to make you want continue playing
>Tons of side content in the game
>Huge overworld but has no interactivity at all
I'm playing it right now
when it launched it was a good game for that period of my life because I was using cocaine everyday and the cocaine in game was like a fedora tip to me
really made me feel cool despite actually being a sack of shit loser
This, people i know love it because they can get high and play it as a hunting simulator
zoom zoom
RDR2 is literally a zoomer game retard
a zoomer filter game
So is that why it sold 30 million copies?
Free roaming and doing whatever you wanted was fun, but the story missions sucked ass from being too heavily scripted, and all the progression mechanics were locked behind them.
Great music and use of it
Great protagonist
Great open world content
Great first few chapters
Great Gore
Looks beautiful
Online poker is fun despite being unable to read people
Shit mission design
Half-assed some open world content into being pointless
There is literally no reason to be Bad Honor other than to see the ending
Rockstar continues to cuck singleplayer content for online cash cow even though Online is fun with friends
I thought it was incredibly boring

Infuriating.
It does so many things amazingly, but goddamn do they take control away from you and force you to play it exactly how they want you to. It's just a constant barrage of 'you can't do this that way', 'that's wrong, do it right', 'we didn't think of that, so you failed, do it how we want you to', 'can't have those weapons/clothes now, get stuffed', and you know they had to go out of their way to script everything like that too. It's just dumb, and could've easily been a 10/10 if they just fucked off with that shit and let you play the game how you want.
yes
The game should have ended when arthur died. Playing as John fucking sucks.
It's a 7/10. I still prefer RDR1.
there should have been an option for avoiding getting sick altogether by paying that sick man's debt yourself rather than get physical with him
I just wish it didn't give you so much damn money in a story about being broke as hell. You almost wish the story's endings could be tied to how much you tried to invest into the camp and do gang member missions. Have things for the gang threaten to drag you into Low Honor by virtue of being a thug, while things that give you High Honor demand that you sacrifice things that could be for the good of the camp.
I love it, i'm a big cowboy fan though so maybe it's not for everyone.
Having played arthur as a sweetheart from the first mission, I agree. It's unfitting when you start the game friendly with townsfolk and shit and then go buckwild on some sick guy being a total douche

Good game but too focused on being cinematic than actually being fun
>lawman is north
>Arthur is south
DEEPEST LORE
good game. my only gripes were sometimes being forced into bringing a particular gun that wasnt in my usual loadout, forced masks off in cutscenes, horse controls can get frustrating/glitch out at times, especially if you dont want to/cant dead eye a pack of 12 wolves. disappointed with dutch's decline in character (felt rushed/poorly handled with micah having dutch around his finger in just 6 months after his tip got them assblasted out of blackwater).
worth buying, which i did

Very comfy open world.
I like to turn the music all the way down and just enjoy the environmental sounds while exploring, hunting, fishing, torturing random campers I find in the middle of nowhere. Good stuff.
I liked the story. The multiplayer is absolute wasted potential.
That's weird i feel the opposite i think the music adds to the experience good.
Ultimately boring.
It's at once phenomenal but also really struggles with modern Rockstar design conventions that holds it back from true perfection. Wandering around the open world, getting into shit with passersby, antagonizing and greeting, killing enemy gang members, explorin', all that shit is pretty top tier. It's when Rockstar decides to stick its ugly cock into the mix and force you to do really specific shit that the game starts to feel like a glorified movie. To be fair, I didn't notice so much on my first go, but trying to stray from the path even a little in most missions will get you cockslapped by daddy Rockstar for daring to run the risk of ruining their epic setpiece.
>Mission involves flanking a group of bad guys attacking the camp
>Sneaking with Sadie
>For some reason the game FORBIDS you from walking in front of her even a little bit
>Can't even exit the autocrouch it puts you into
That's to say nothing of the boneheaded decision to lock you off from half of the map until you hit the epilogue 35 hours into the game.
>Psychic Pinkertons are patrolling all over Blackwater so you can't really do much there
>It's totally conceivable that Arthur could probably make it to New Austen by himself and the law would, naturally, not know he's there.
>Game even has lines of dialogue specific for him there, as well as journal entries.
>The game just randomly has a godlike sniper instantkill you for daring to not follow the intended path of progression
But still, it's a technical marvel, and definitely the best written game Rockstar's produced since the base game of GTA IV. American Venom alone was worth the playtime, as someone who loved the original, that entire mission will stick out in my mind as one of my fondest memories of gaming.
I enjoyed it for the most part, towards the end it got a bit tedious and I would rush through missions as fast as possible just to continue the story. Only videogame that’s ever made cry
It is genuinely incredible. The snow area in the beginning is a filter though, it's only about an hour long at least - then the game opens up.
Can someone help me understand what thought process is supposed to go into a low honor Arthur? The whole story tries to paint it like he only puts on the mean outlaw face if it's for the good of the gang. It's hard to feel immersed when you blow away a farmer in his own home for his valuables on his own time when Arthur generally acts like an okay person in even the changed cutscenes.
