I fucking hate WoW but I'm glad all the clones adopted the "levelling is just a tutorial, all of the actual content is horizontal progression from level cap" approach.

It was a cynical monetization strategy. It means the gooks that made these games where always money grubbing assholes. They stopped the leveling thing because they make so much freaking money off of cosmetics and waifu-autists they don't need to hide it all behind lvl gating anymore.

I remember how cool I thought I looked in my babby mech trying to "protect" mining botters (who I thought at the time were actual players sitting behind their computer the whole time) against non-existent threats since PvP only occured at planned time and was mostly zerg vs zerg for an hour before everybody got back to their mines
