I meant to say is pretty consistent, not 100% related to the story. Using Tifa and Aerith vs Don Corneo goons, and the 2 party team still works as Cloud's POV is tunneled to those moments.
The only reason why FF7R gets so much shit is because the changes they made with fate, the plot ghosts as reddit calls them. Aside from the unreal engine fuck up of not loading textures, the story plot elements overtaking the character story growth is the only real reason to give shit to the game... and guess which solo parts are those?

Yeah, once the game is actually a challenge in hard mode and you have to be tactical with your materia choices it really shines, although I enjoyed it throughout anyway.
