I kid you not, there was this one guy who added me AGES ago and tried to do the whole "sorry ;( I reported u, pls dont be mad" scam. Back then I just ignored the retard and he didn't message me again, I just kinda forgot about him and didn't remove him. Then, a few days ago this ABSOLUTE MONGOLOID tried it again. Basically some random guy adds you and goes something like this:
"Hey, I have something important to tell you. Please promise you won't be mad. I accidentally reported your profile instead of a scammer. I've already contacted support and they said your account will be banned in 6 hours if you don't talk to them."
It's basically just a ploy to get you to add an "admin" account and get your account info (username, password, mobile code). The guy that tried it again a few days ago sent me to the profile of an actual Steam employee and told me to add him. I just told him to fuck off and that's that. I was curious though and tried to add the Steam mod. Turns out his friends list was full. I am guessing how the scam works is.. he sends me to an actual Steam mod's account, but when I can't add him due to the full friends list the scammer just sends you another, this time fake, profile link. And then the scam continues.
