After the success of RE2...

After the success of RE2, why did this end up becoming one of the worst video game remakes of all time and quickly shelved by Capcom as a quiet failure?

They got too cocky. Next question?

Because it was clearly rushed out the door in an attempt to capitalize on the goodwill and momentum generated by the RE2 Remake despite the fact it was a glorified $20 DLC expansion being sold for full price, complete with a tacked-on multiplayer mode nobody asked for

I'm going to speak for myself here.
I was very hyped for this remake as I love RE3.
But playing the demo and hearing about teleporting/flying nemesis made me lose interest instantly and I still have not tried or buyed the game.

I will play it eventually, but the fact that they fucked up Nemesis, when they already perfected that never ending chasing in RE2 remake with MR.X just rubs my dick the wrong way

Because they cut half the fucking game out and made Jill an ugly dyke

Pirate it and save money. It's worth 5-10 dollars at best.

RE2 remake was barely good. Just a step into the right the direction.

B-Team garbage that you bought regardless. Enjoy RE4 now with less content and areas coming soon.

because capcom

It’s really good, children don’t like it. People forget how low effort and lousy the original was.

it's much better than the original

Name 5 things Lousy about the original
They better be good

micheal was actually right about this one

For me, there was several reasons:

>Nemesis was heavily modified both style-wise and function-wise and pretty much ruined. He did not randomly appear and was more scripted then before, his appearances was down, and was in his first form for a very short amount of time. His new beast-like form was also shit and ruined a lot of fights. Fuck, Mr. X was a better Nemesis then he was.
>Took out the choice system and made the game more linear. Made it less desirable to replay.
>Cut a lot of the better parts of the game. If they had actually implemented stuff like the clock tower, park, gravedigger, dead factory, etc it would have been a much more substantial and better game.
>Cut out Mercenaries despite this being the game it premiered in.

I loved the original RE3 and I do think the remake could have been decent if they just gave it more love and didn't rush it out the door.

>roll sideways
>shoot
no depth whatsoever, this is PS2 tier gameplay mechanics

Its an asset flip
Its shorter than RE2
The voice acting is somehow worse than RE2 and not anywhere near as entertaining as RE1
The reloader makes the game easier than RE2
Bottom text

>Its much better because durr aim shoot gun third person me love Re 4

Let me guess, Remake 3 has basically no music just like Remake 2 right? That already makes it worse than the original, no way around it.

I love how the author of this webm likes to think this makes the game look awesome and more appealing even though it has the exact opposite effect and just goes to showcase how fucking boring nu-Resident Evil became with later releases in the franchise just focusing on shooting big glowing weak points

>Its much better because it has gameplay
precisely

If the gameplay revolves around what i'm seeing from the webm then its not that good, i played enough mediocre RE games since 4 that revolve around the same shooty shooty bullshit without any style or charm, if i wanted that i would play western games.

why didn't he shitpost it as hard as REmake 2?

>implying any resident evil but 6 is mechanically complex
lol

Because Crapcom didnt even try with this one.

What is Regina doing in the Raccoon City zone?

It was kind of fun. I pirated it and finished it in 4 hours in one sitting. Definitely not worth $79

>actually comparing a PS1 game with a 2020's
>implying RE6 is mechanically complex
OOF

it's unironically better because that was the best they could do at the time, with all the advancements made to gaming tech in the past 20 years you'd think that they'd be able to do more for these games than simply roll, shoot, and cut content.

>implying RE6 is mechanically complex
yes? the mechanics are the least of that game's problems.
>actually comparing a PS1 game with a 2020's
not an argument, a game doesn't need to have flashy combos and konami code controls to have good gameplay.

they are horror games, limited controls are there to generate tension.

It's still a solid game, just way overpriced and clearly rushed. Should have either been fleshed out more or sold as a $20 standalone expansion to 2.

I'm not disputing that, but that with the still camera for rooms results in a better experience than tps REmakes

no, at that point it becomes a movie.

RE3make actually has a lot more classic tracks and better implementation of them than the RE2make, but it's otherwise a worse game by every metric

The time and resources they used on making REsistance should have just gone into RE3make.

Strange that they did not added the Clock Tower portion as dlc, a lot would have ended up buying it
