>The world used to be whole, but with the end of the Second World War, the Philosophers began to fight amongst themselves, and the world was torn apart. Was she fucking retarded? It was never whole before the second World War, there was a FIRST World War, the Japanese invasions of China and the communist revolution happened during that time.
Don't even bother to understand the story of Metal gear at all. it's the definition of style of substance, and you're better off just ignoring it and enjoying the stealth, which is infinitely better
Elijah Jones
The only MGS game that makes sense is MGS2, and plebs hated it on release and thought it was too confusing.
And even before then you had plenty of empires warring and carving up what they could. I honestly have no idea what the Boss meant by the “world being whole” unless that meant no superpowers, regional hegemons only
Cooper Miller
Why were the Philosophers made up of groups from Russia, China & the US? Hadn't the US only really become a major political force in the 20th century, while China had spent the last few centuries being everyone's bitch?
Reminder that Kojima is a fucking retard who wouldn't write a character (even less a woman) decently to save his life. Much of its work is a pozzed sjw power fantasy that gets a pass because he is a coomer and GG wasn't a thing. >The best soldier of WW2 is a strong whaman who died only because she allowed Snake to defeat her. >In Afghanistan you fight against the Soviet Union on behalf of mudslimes Mujahideen and Pakistani street shitters, contributing to the spread of Islam and Islamic terrorism >In Africa you fight against fictional PMC just so that the game can introduce the bad ugly white South Africans are actually the reason Africa is a shithole
Cameron Green
Have any of the Metal Gear games touched upon Japanese war crimes?
>hurr durr the Boss is totally unrealistic, isn’t that right The Pain and The Fear? >why is a mercenary army fighting for the highest bidder?
Josiah Walker
>>why is a mercenary army fighting for the highest bidder? It's not the PMC, the PMC operates for South African company and apparently their activity is why that zone is a shithole. It's 100% a leftist "noble savage" narrative
Caleb Turner
LOL no. Japan is completely irrelevant to the history of Metal Gear. It's all about USA, Russia and China. And Kojima seems to be anti nuclear deterrence, which is completely retarded.
Easton Wright
She's speaking in reference to the world rulers. She literally mentions the Philosophers in the sentence you quoted. Did you go to a government school? This isn't hard.
Ian Johnson
well, they do discuss Japan a bit, through Kaz
Justin Brooks
The US and its founding has intense significance in occultism. It may have only become a noteworthy force to the laymen in the 20th century, but the generally understood theory behind mysticism and occultism in major world affairs is that world leaders waited with great anticipation for the creation of the US due to the whole "New World" concept.
The US's founding and rise to a global power is part of why this concept exists in the first place, and rightfully so, it's lots of very nice coincidences and convenient decisions from enemies and allies alike which allowed the US to not only be born, but become a military and economic superpower almost overnight. So to reiterate, that's why part of the philosophers were from the US and not simply Europe and immigrated to the US.
David Parker
what she meant is that even though wars always existed, BETWEEN wars there were periods of peace time and coexistence where the various countries traded and interacted with each other on the other end (as the intro explains), after ww2 the world was split into two, east and west, marking the beginning of the era called the cold war. a state of perpetual unease and indirect conflict, with thr entire world at a constant risk of complete annihilation what she wants is the end of the iron curtain and for the world to be whole again.
John Nguyen
I also forgot to mention that groups like the Free Masons, Illuminati, and others are commonly believed to have been behind the founding of America, so this is another reason for why the US typically has immense significance in pop culture during this really early period in its history; even when it's relatively weak and unimportant its basically a nation-sized macguffin for NWO types.
Gabriel Peterson
>philosophers=jews >philosophers began to fight amongst themselves=cold war that;s it really
Nolan King
She meant that people had a unified vision of what "progress" meant. There was conflict, but that conflict was itself an indicator of states acting with actual volition towards an imaginable purpose. Ever since world war II politics has been in maintenance mode. Whether what came before is better or worse is pretty much entirely a subjective opinion - but there we go.
Hudson Hill
>the jew and its puppet the US are the bad guys Redpilled
it's fiction (with a historical setting), dumbass in the same game there's a guy with spider limbs and a guy summoning fucking bees
Jackson Williams
You're the type of person who sees anything slightly creative and shouts WOOOAH THEY MUST'VE BEEN ON DRUGS WHEN THEY MADE THIS LOL >it's the definition of style of substance ESL retard.
Oliver Turner
To elaborate on this:
Political disagreements were about HOW to achieve progress, but very rarely was the idea of WHAT progress actually constitutes brought into question.
After world war 2, and really more so after the 60s and 70s when everyone smart started to realise the Soviet empire was running on fumes, the west took a shift towards a maintenance mindset in politics. Along with that, social movements and post-modern academia started to bring the matter of what constitutes solid, objective progress into question.
Now we just squabble over identity politics.
Matthew Johnson
>>the jew and its puppet the US are the bad guys What are you talking about? You fight FOR the US against Russia and South Africa
Landon Morgan
shite answer
Justin Jackson
>fight with the degeneracy creator and its exporter Bluepilled
Jeremiah Morgan
This isn't /x/.
Levi Diaz
>Defending the Soviet Union
Landon Russell
>entire history of the world revolves around vague statements from a women less than a couple hundred of intelligence officers and soldiers even knew existed
Kojima is too much of a westboo for that, instead all the Snakes and Meryl's boyfriend are hafu and Raiden gets a Japanese codename and a katana.
Landon Price
But we're at peace due to the threat of mutual destruction, and we've had fewer deaths from wars in recent years than pre-WW conflicts. Kojima is kind of retarded in this regard because as a jap his views on nukes are skewed.
He's not wrong that they're bad, but he thinks them going poof over night will lead to real world peace now that we're all globized when instead we would have real wars every couple decades. War, real war, is a good thing that advances mankind and turns boys into men with a sense of duty and direction, but that's now what Kojima wants or expects to happen.
