What currency is that CAD or some weird Asian dollar?

>implying kangaroobux matter at all

Matter of the fact is pc gaming is expensive and impractical compared to consoles.

>was supposed to be cheaper than console gaming
The whole fucking point of console gaming is too buy a console so you wouldm't have to uprade your PC every noun and then. Ideally, people consoles, because they could not afford expensive gaming PC

>every noun and then
adjectively wrong

*now and then, user
Many mistakes, but the point is clear

That’s NZD

Little bit of insider information for ya champ, it was always supposed to be this way. They're meant as a cheaper alternative that still gets the job done. The last generation of youtube nerds all making videos building a PC that beats console performance for cheaper were because that generation of consoles was utterly terrible and failed at the one thing consoles are supposed to do. Bragging about being back on track is the mark of a retard. Basically what you're doing right now is expecting accolades for not wetting the bed.

a 3070 is well above console level

That has always been true

it's not though, and it's low on ram too

>I thought pc gaming was supposed to be cheaper than console gaming?
No? That's never been the case.

PC hardware has always been more expensive because it's vastly superior offering better performance, quality, longevity and customization.

There's no online subscription cancer you have to pay just to play shitty P2P MP games.

Games are considerably cheaper and there's a much bigger library available.

Range of peripherals is significantly greater.

Consoles are great if you're poor and really don't plan on investing any time or money into your hobby and don't actually care about the quality of your experience.

What? PC was never meant to be cheaper than console. Consoles were always supposed to be the cheaper stuff that's functional but locks you into their "ecosystem" of getting fucked up the ass. It's just the current state of consoles that made PCs cheaper. For instance I'd rather go out and buy a new AMD card with shitty drivers, put it into my PC, and defacto beat the current consoles for ~$80 more.

I suspect the current consoles are using an underclocked 6700 equivalent for the ps5 and an actual 6700xt for the Xbox. So congratulations you are now matching the "mid range" of current gen pc graphics cards with a CPU bottleneck. At least it's comparatively cheaper.

no, not compared to new consoles coming out

It usually is about two years after the start of a console generation when people start selling off their parts and stronger parts end up on the market and the fact that you probably use a PC for everything you do not IRL. You can slap a graphics card in there halfway through a generation and be caught up with most consoles. Up until recently, you could have bought an RX580 on eBay for about $150 and as long as you had a quad core CPU made after Nehalem and a decent power supply, you could match or exceed console specs and performance easily. With Zen 2 being the default CPU architecture for this gen, any eight core CPU from last year onward can match baseline specs for presumably seven more years.

But go ahead a buy a shitty cheapo laptop that you found at Wal-Mart and complain about how shit PC's are when it breaks after a year.

VRAM is an issue, but the performance of a 3070 is about equivalent to that of a 2080Ti and (presumably) slightly below that of an RX 6800. Since the Series X sits at 52 CU's to the RX 6800's 60, rasterization performance is likely going to be lower than a 3070 unless some black magic is going on at Microsoft. The PS5 and Series S having much less than that is going to make them 1440p60 machines at best.
Pretty much if you have a 2070 Super or above, along with a recent eight core CPU, you'll meet or exceed console specs until a refresh comes along.

Seriously though, when the fuck are old cards going on sale? g assured me that prices would fall once the 3080 was out

They did, but then Nvidia fucked up the launch of Ampere so badly that people are holding on to cards until they have something to actually buy. You missed the boat for cheap 2080's when Ampere was announced and they probably won't be dirt cheap again until the RX 6000 series comes out assuming that AMD doesn't fuck that up too.

>got a 3070 at msrp
feels fucking good man, sold my 1080 for $250 so I got a pretty nice gpu for $250

It's certainly not this gen if you're aiming for 4K. I had planned on building a PC for about 700 bucks like I did at the beginning of this last gen and boy was I in for a surprise looking at current GPU prices. I imagine it's going to be a year or two more before a good 4K card comes around for less than 300 or 400 bucks. 1080 for poorfags for the foreseeable future it seems.

Mining ruined PC gaming forever.

The fact is while yes PC is technically better, it's hampered by the fact that there is a new graphics card out nearly every year and if you don't get it you are a fab in Zig Forums's eyes.

Console on the other hand pretty much lasts until the next major launch and that's usually every seven years. With an occasional 'slim' version and a more optimised version inbetween.

add your TV, game prices and doubled internet payment to the equation

That would've happened if that made more than about forty of them

See, the difference is when you buy a $1400 VGA you're basically set for like the next 3-4 years. Whereas with a console... well shit, I guess with a console you're set for the next 7 years.
Yeah, I don't know why PC Mustard Race retards always try to play the affordability game with us console chads instead of staying in their own lane.

You pay $490 over the course of 7 years just for access to MP.

Lol, it's at most 20% more powerful than the Series X.

So, about 1000 dollars which is bare minimum to build a decent PC right now and ideally closer to 1500.

>games are considerably cheaper
not really true anymore unless you buy from grey market sellers or pirate
the PC sale culture has hit consoles big time

no one is mining on GPUs since like 2017

*pirates your console 'exclusive'*

Attached: 1604165656503.jpg (1024x1024, 102.31K)

Still cheaper than $1300 for a GPU alone.

>the PC sale culture has hit consoles big time
No it absolutely hasn't.

You can regularly get PC games for 75-90% off legitimately.

Is "mid range" being able to hit 4K 60 nowadays? What the fuck does mid range even mean then

You can regularly get console games for 75 to 90% off too
t. idort with every system

S-SHUT UP CONSOLEBROS HELP MEEEE

>buying Amphermi

Attached: 1603502555472.jpg (600x655, 41.99K)

Show me the nintendo sales of 90% off.

poorfag low tier = 1080p 60fps
midrange = 1080p 144fps
high end = 1440p 144fps

The only GPUs currently on the market that are at or above $1300 in price that aren't scalped are the 3090, desperate 2080Ti sellers and various workstation cards. If you spend $1300 or more on any of those besides the last option, you're an idiot unless you actually make money with your computer.

it was never cheaper, but now to get better performance than consoles you need to buy a $500 GPU instead of a $250 one. fuck amd, fuck nvidia, and fuck jews

No one's talking about nintendo in this thread, we're comparing xbox/ps to PC
Nintendo has garbage for sales but xbox and playstation do have decent sales

underrated post

yes it is, and despite what console manufacturers shill, I doubt they surpass a stock 2060 in practice

every of my PS4 games i bought used for like 15-20$

cope

This.
This right here is the real issue.
I was fine paying $250-$320 for a GPU that nets me twice the performance of a console in an ~$850 build.
I'm NOT fine paying $500 for a GPU that nets me 20% more than a console in a ~$1200 build.
Both AMD and Nvidia need to get their heads out of their asses, but they won't, because a lot of modern PCfags eat these shitty cards up.
>WHOA DUDE, THE NEW $500 NVIDIA GPU OFFERS BETTER PRICE-PERFORMANCE THAN LITERALLY THE WORST PRICE-PERFORMANCE GPU NVIDIA HAS EVER MADE, IT'S AMAZING!

Lmao copes

>No one's talking about nintendo in this thread
user mentioned consoles and owning every system, that includes nintendo.

So once again, show me the 90% off nintendo sales.

>You missed the boat for cheap 2080's

What are you talking about? Almost no one has a 3000x card. Of course 2080s aren’t going to tank in price yet.

Looks fine where i am also thats the price for a 3090 where i am

Attached: 33C78C58-4FAE-412A-BB25-114BED153CFA.png (1792x828, 608.37K)

Yep, there lies the problem. As long as people are willing to go out and blow twice as much money as last gen for mid-range cards these companies have zero incentive to change their pricing. This is especially so for AMD since they produce chips for the console manufacturers as well so they're getting paid either way.

Because both microsoft and sony are taking in massive losses with this new hardware so they can sell you games/peripherals. Nvidia and AMD can't compete with that

I can't, that was never my point. I'm sorry I have confused you. Allow me to reiterate, xbox and PS have similar sales to PC. Not nintendo.

user, the PS5 is going to be on par with a 2060 Super, while the XSX will be more like a 2080.
If you can't get performance on par with these GPUs on PC without paying $400+, then PC price-performance is literal dogshit nowadays.
Even when the PS4/XB1 launched, the equivalent R9 270x and R7 260x were $199 and $139 respectively.
Now the equivalent GPUs to these consoles (RTX 3060/3050 Ti and RX 6700/6700 XT) are going to be fucking $250-$400, which is absolutely fucking insane.

is this leafbux, spiderbux, or kiwibux?

>midrange = 1080p 144fps
Uh, no. 1080p is ancient

it was, then jews went and jew'd it up, just like everything else

> I'm sorry I have confused you.
You didn't confuse anyone, you just lied.
See
>t. idort with every system

>Nvidia and AMD can't compete with that
Correction: They can absolutely compete with that, but they won't, because they're greedy.

That’s not the regular price of a 3070 you disingenuous faggot
