I held that game up for years as something that must be this holy grail of scary games- because there are so few playthroughs of it on Youtube and fucked if I was ever gonna try it.
Then I did watch a playthrough, and found it's not too scary at all. 1 or 2 of the ghosts are really good, but the vast majority of the game is trying to figure out how to turn of alarms, avoiding the janny, or figuring out where the fuck you're trying to go.

Lost In Vivo honestly feels like it should have been a freeware game on Gamehippo in like 2004, no idea why anyone would want someone to waste their hard earned money on this trash.

I mean for fuck sake, it's a survival horror game with regenerating health, why even include ammo pickups at that point, there's literally no conservation or tension to the combat because it literally does not matter how bad of a job you do, go ahead and spend 20 minutes lining up every shot, it's almost impossible to die

are there any good modern horror games that dont rely on jumpscares?
I just want to feel tense and uneasy during the game.
i dont want stupid quiet moment and then sudden loud noises just for a cheap scare.

Darkwood. I like Visage a lot too. It does have jumpscares but it actually works because the atmosphere between them is so tense.

Been playing Fear 2 as my resident October spooky game, and my god is it such a downgrade from Fear 1. It feels like a Cod clone with some spooky (but not scary) bits added here and there, whereas Fear 1, specifically its gunplay, is still top tier good shit

Not this year. Visage was the last good game and it's not even finished and got abandoned by the devs.
