Don’t set your expectations too high just because it aims for a M rating; Type-0 got a M rating just because the damn intro scene has a soldier and his chocobo dying in a pool of their own blood, the rest of the game doesn’t have any sexually suggestive content or any violence of that caliber shown ever again.
For XVI, Joshua getting his face splattered with blood might be the most shocking part of the game.
