Dragon Age.
Dragon Age: Origins is about fighting the malingering hell on earth that hides in the ground over a millennium after the initial cult was successful in breaching Heaven and came back corrupt in form. The Awakening expansion is about uncovering a new branch of that cult and its attempts to spawn new monstrosities.
Dragon Age Inquisition mostly sucks but is about one of the original cultists orchestrating the collapse of the dominant religion and nations.
