I'd argue that the Mulan remake is more of a "shitting on the original" given that it actually removed Mushu, had no songs and give mulan these stupid Chi powers rather than having her be a normal woman who gets through with perseverance and a bit of cleverness.
At least the lion king remake was just a complete remake of the original, nearly shot for shot, just in soulless CGI.
