i played demon's souls when it came out in 09, played it for years and participated in the threads on here
i like the new music that ive heard so far, i played the original to death so changing the looks and sounds of the game without touching the gameplay much sounds like the perfect deal to me

The trumpets and bass you find "comical" distinguish the game from generic violin classic songs that every other Souls have, because Boletaria was never meant to be Lothric so the militaristic art style and soundtrack instruments reflected that.

The Adjudigator especially alternating low tone acutes and loud piano is what made the boss fight even creepier

This. Demon's Souls for whatever reason decided not to go down the route of big, sweeping epic orchestral tracks and is all the better for it. That isn't to say that BB and DS3 and other games with those type of tracks aren't great either.
