There's a quest where Grit Gate is invaded by Templars and they can possibly kill most Barathrumites. Because Q Girl is a major quest giver, she's "immortal" and gets respawned if anything happens.

Q Girl is a vital questgiver for the main quest, and the Templar attack during the main quest had a good chance of killing at least a few of the Barathrumites, so she's got an extra safety net compared to the others to avoid the thread of prophecy being broken through no fault on the player's part. Otho also has it, but he doesn't have multicolored hair or personality quirks so rightoids don't bother trying to make fun of him.

It's not a bullshit reason, dumbass. All the other quest givers won't be assaulted by an army of overpowered Putus Templars so they run no risk of dying unless the player decides to kill them for whatever reason.

The thing is, even if it is a bullshit reason, they don't NEED a reason. She's still perfectly killable in the current game. If the sight of an autistic bear with purple hair triggers the player so bad, they can already kill her. The actual core of the matter is that the people in the overlap between Sseth's fanbase and Zig Forumstards saw a lefty boogeywoman and started crying not even because they can't kill her, but that it doesn't take 0 fucking effort to.
You know how I know the people getting assblasted over Q Girl don't actually care about the game itself and are just looking for stuff they can interpret as leftist to get themselves upset about? A later quest requires you to go talk to a plant that uses fucking xey/xem pronouns unironically, and I haven't heard a single person going off on that. That's because most people getting triggered by Q Girl haven't actually played the game; as you said, they just needed a lefty boogeywoman. I never saw anyone talking about how progressive the Mopango are, for example... and they're a really weird turbo lefty dream faction.
