Xbox Series S will be the homebrew king of the 20s

>8 zen 2 cores and 16 threads at 3.4ghz
>10gb of gddr6 ram
>4tf gpu with raytracing capabilities

This shit is literally enough to perfectly emulate the nintendo switch and every system prior to it at 4k 60fps.

I REALLY hope modders work at full fucking speed to homebrew it as fast as possible.

yes i'm sure. hackers were really active on xbox one because they were so interested in it. oh wait they only focused on switch and ps4 lol

I wonder if they will be able to do anything with ps5 because of the overheating.

You can run Retroarch on your Xbox without hacks, just developer mode.
Since retroarch just added PCSX2, Xbox will get better PS2 BC than PS5.
Get shrekt.

dumb console war faggot

read the OP before spewing your resetera poison

>focused on the PS4
Just because the PS4 is hacked while the xbox one isn't, it doesn't mean that they are focused on the PS4

this shit is fucking porwerful for 300
better get one before ms discontinues it

>raytracing capabilities
kek

Never thought of it that way but you're right, for 300 dollars this'll be a killer rig for even 5 years later.

pay attention on ebay

if loose brand new white controllers start appearing often then the nerds are on it at full force

This thing could literally be the switch pro we all want

>hacking an xbone
>it's a pc
>when on a pc you get better results
I want to say nu-Zig Forums is stupid. So yea nu-Zig Forums is stupid.

Microsoft probably doesnt even give a fuck about emulation if it means moving more consoles and gamepass

Yeah dude we can totally get a computer like Series S for 300 dollars.

The entirety of Microsoft’s backwards compatibility program is emulation based

I'm talking about non official emulation involving piracy

A PS3 emulator would be sweet

Original Demon's Souls on the SSD and 1440P or 4K could be sweet. I would sell my PS3 Slim w/ 240GB SSD right away for a Series S

If I were Microsoft, I would want the people that wish for a Dev Mode have it for sales
What is the percentage of people using Homebrews? 1%

>b-but pc
yet you fucks complain about snoy constantly just shut the fuck up

I still laugh when I saw the Series S with a better CPU than the PS5.

You think the possibility of emulating the switch at 4k60 wouldnt move more than 1% more of Xboxes?

You're dreaming my dude. People stil get wiis to this day to use as a homebrew machine

MAKE IT HAPPEN, PHIL-SAMA

Why not just build a PC? it'll cost a bit more but you'll have a more fully functional system that already does what you want without having to rely on various community projects and suspicious closed-source hacks

the question is whether the CPU is really as good as on paper
think about it, it should be comparable to 3700X on paper, yet everyone jacks off to SSD and raytracing

Uhh no, Microsoft consoles nowadays have some fucking insane DRM, so good luck with that.

I think it's more about the convenience of getting it hooked up to TV.
Sure, you can connect PC to TV, through cable or Steam Link or you can have it constantly connected to your tv, but if you have it connected to your regular monitor, it's becoming more of a pain in the ass.

It's an Xbone (Plus). Put it in Dev Mode and you can run whatever the fuck .exe file you like.

is retroarch on bone really that simple?

The short answer is yes.

No. Xbone's dev mode only runs UWP applications so you can't run any random .exe. You have to port applications.
Fortunately Retroarch has a UWP port. When Series S|X launches, you'll be able to run that version of Retroarch on a nonshit CPU.

Including RPCS3 on Vulkan? if so I will buy an used One X

Retroarch on the Xbone can't even run Dolphin at full speed. Don't forget that the Xbone (and PS4) had awful CPUs even for when they launched.

Will wait then, I have 0 knowledge in programming, how hard could it be to port RPCS3?

you can use dev mode basically for free. Idk the exact limits of that but at least you can do stuff like retroarch.

Hard to say. Retroarch and cores for every relevant console up to Dolphin were ported by one person, but the UWP PCSX2 port was tried and abandoned. PCSX2 is famously unmaintainable.

Lmao. No one gives a fuck about PS4 emulation or hacking. That's why we have Switch emulators working better than Switch itself but literally no one works on PS4 emulation or hacking.

Honestly I'm not as much as a poorfag as I was when I was younger but I used to use the Wii with homebrew for the same thing. So I hope some poorfag xbone users get some cool emulation. Kinda a waste of time if you have a decent gaming pc though

>modders capable of 4k BOTW shortly after release
>it took 10 years to get 60 fps in demons souls
nobody cares about emulating ps4
