Why was Rondo of Blood the best game in the franchise and how come it was never replicated?

Anyone got a link to the English version of it?
I downloaded it off a forum, but I CBA to create an account again.
why does nobody talk about this game? besides the fact it was locked on the Wii eShop
funny enough I found this earlier today, pretty sure this is it

Because it made for a japanese exclusive console, close to the peak of vidya and for the japanese audience of the time.
Rebirth is great but its also very short and like you said exclusive to the Wii.
Does this have the OG voices or the PSP ones?
They just wanted to make a fun game
I'm no game dev, but I also imagine the PC Engine CD was probably pretty powerful and easy to develop for
having played both rebirth and rondo, I liked rebirth better, but it doesn't have all the QoL fixes to classicvania gameplay that rondo had(like being able to mount stairs midair, the ability to jump off of stairs, and your last subweapon dropping when you get a new one), and while the music is great in both, it's hard to deny that rondo's music is amazing.
Rondo was one of the last classicvania games to be made, so there really hasn't been much of a chance to replicate it.
that being said, it probably is objectively the best classicvania game in the series.
the same reason nobody talks about contra/gradius rebirth. they're soulless.
Rebirth has plenty of soul, for a 2009 game especially.
Never played the Gradius and Contra rebirth games so i won't judge those.
Dracula X is better because it doesn't have mandatory unskippable cutscenes.
Imagine skipping cheesy early 90s anime cutscenes, you have no soul
And the intro is amazing

*Yawn* When do I get to play the game?
>Worse in every way but it's better because it doesn't have 3 minutes of cutscenes
Nigger
is it ludo?
Its good but not in the top 3, i would put it together with Rebirth in my personal chart.
Absolutelly, great game, go for it.
I don't mind the cutscenes existing. They should just be skippable.
>TFW replaying all DS games on hard.
It would be less painful if I had my fucking save.
It's probably my most listened to video game soundtrack
How did they do it?
Igavania collection when?
IGA really wanted to make a traditional sequel to it or a remake of Castlevania III, but Konami forced him into metroidvania handheld jail when the underfunded 3D games they forced on him flopped.
I like bloodlines more I think. The art direction and visual polish is perfect.
this is not ok
UUOOOOOHHHHH
It was the best because it took what worked about Classicvania, improved everything about it, and scrapped the cheap deaths and shitty controls. Also because you can play as Maria and she's 100% more fun than Richter.
If they had done a straight port for international release on SNES, TurboGrafx or PS1 (no Dracula X shit) it would have been massively more popualar.
Is this any different from sharp X6800 version or should I just play the pc version that I have installed already?
pc is the best version
PC is just emulator with a pretty frontend.
Yeah it's really good but don't play Arrange mode.
>sharp X6800
Rondo is PC Engine, but yeah, it's the same thing.
