They should treat it like E.T. and bury all the copies of it in a landfill in bumfuck nowhere.
My local Mediamarkt has like 300 copies of TLOU 2 lying around in the PC section next to all those shitty simulation games and Sims 4 DLC.
Of course there are also some lying in the PS4 arena but why the fuck are they polluting their PC section?
reminder that because of japan's law TLOU2 was massively censored. real fans certainly bought the non censored version by importing it or buy buying it digitally with a foreign psn account.
they need to sell user
Cope Infinite
Yes. Those are sold copies.
Sony already got paid by the retailers who took up all those millions of copies.
And now they are rotting in the stores and retailers just can't get rid of them. Good deal for Sony - Shitty deal for the retailers.
America needs to adopt the Japanese strategy of packaging the game with the sale of other games.
That said, no matter what's advertised people will try to take advantage of it.
Go to Walmart. Price says $40, price rings up as $19.99. Ask the sales teller if there was a mistake. They say no, but also tell me not to tell anyone because they don't want flippers invading.
I suspect TLOU2 is heavily resold used since I cant imagine someone playing through it a sedond time
seeth and cope

7 MILLIONS different players played it
what am I seeing ?
Retailer stuck with these stacks of a game that don't sell ?
How much refund it? Just look at the trphy completition.
they need to sell it. some stores are already givving it away for free if you buy any other game just to get rid of their stock
lol
Same shit happend to Mafia 3.
When it got released it was THE BEST SELLING 2K GAME IN HISTORY because retailers ordered a lot of copies but it turned out that the game was shit and nobody wanted to buy it so sales didn't increase anymore due to retailers sitting on their old stock and the game turned into a bargain bin trash title.
All working for Snoy.
one guy bought all 4 million????
They like to say shipped rather than sold these days. It just means they're dead weight at retail shops.
50% trophy completion on a 30 hour game? yeah fucking right good luck refunding that
6 mils in first month thanks to the hype and success of the first game. After that sales just fucking stoped.
That four million were sold to consumers so that pic only proves that they shipped way more than that
Bury it in front of ND headquarters and make a Jewish statue marked with "4 millions" while the caricature is taking a shit on the grave.
>reminder that because of japan's law TLOU2 was massively censored
Nobody wants to see Abby naked, they have the best version.
no gore tho
Wow they have gifted 200,000 more copies!
>claim its the biggest title of the year
>only 6-7 million people out of 110 played it.
The Last of Us had over 40 million players.
This piece of shit better not win GoTY.
I personally don't care about the award itself but this game is a blight on the industry.
Movie games needs to stop being the norm.
yikes!
>Good deal for Sony - Shitty deal for the retailers.
lol no. yes Sony sold 4 million copies to retailers pretty fast but that doesn't mean Sony wasn't planning to sell MORE copies after that. 4 million is nothing for a game this scale.
It counts the number of accounts that played it.
Borrow your game, rent the game or multiple accounts playing it just for 5 minutes.
It adds up alot. I got a free code and never downloaded it, i probably add up to the 40 gorillon.
I thought only American puritans care about nudity and le based japan doesn’t ?
the last of us had two versions and was for free for ps+ members
>7 MILLIONS different players played it
no. those are people with at least one trophy. games sold are roughly half of that if you go by other games
>Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
>gamestat total player count: 33,400,000
>officially copies sold: 16 million
No, you have to play it.
also it says the average owner played it during a two weeks span
uncharted 4 was for free on ps+
stop trying. you are wrong.
>if you go by other games
Yikes let’s unpack this.
The Last of us 2 isn’t a game it is art sweety. Also I would literally bet my life that everyone who bought the game platnumed it and earned all the artcheivmentd
>uncharted 4 was for free on ps+
That makes it even worse. The copies sold don't include PSN+.
you're kinda stupid aren't you?
TLoU was re-released and given on PS+ idiot
It's still Abad deal for Sony. Retailers don't trust products from companies whose past products didn't sell. Nobody likes shelf warmers.
when did 7 million units sold become a bad thing?
The only stats that matter is to look at the easiest/first achievement % then the story completion %
It gives a good idea on how many people cared about the game.
One time, Square Enix said Tomb Raider's 3-4 million sales were low, ever since then retards on Zig Forums think an AAA game has to sell 20 million to be profitable when in reality SE management is notoriously shitty
When the PS4 sold 110 or so millions units.
When it fails to be enough to recoup development costs. Because that's how economics work.
lmao then by that logic The Last Jedi, or Captain Marvel were successes. And we know that's not the case
>when did 7 million units sold become a bad thing?
it didn't sell anywhere near 7 million. Gamstat estimates 7 million people have at least ONE trophy. That means copies sold are a fraction of that. We know Sony shipped to retailers 4 million copies and those copies are collecting dust to this day.
attach rates are inversely proportional to console sales, compare splatoon 1 on wiiu with 2 on switch or MK8
if "success" is determined by "how much Zig Forums likes it" then i guess both of those mentioned were failures.
but jesus christ get your head out of your ass
