PS5 has 713GB available storage space, not bad out of 825.
713 GB
so a 102GB OS, sounds about right
Woah, enough storage for three AAA games.
False
enough storage for three COD games*
Most AAA are under 100gb, and mostly around 50 to 80gb.
>according to a german video
lmao what
OH NO NO NO
HAHAHAHAHA
wrong
most aaa games are under 50gb because it needs to fit on disc
What fucking planet do you live on user?
I don't understand the issue? Do you people not uninstall games once you've finished them?
I can only assume you live in 3rd world USA with shitty download limits
Unless its Call of Duty or rare cases like Red Dead and Doom, most games I have are around the 50-60 range. You can use Oodle on PS5 so they can technically reduce game sizes if they use it. Obviously not huge levels of reduction but it works. I think spiderman remastered is smaller in file size than the regular version on ps4
no, because you might want to replay them
and reintalling a 50-100 gb game every time you want to replay it is fucking annoying and retarded
My mistake, its Miles Morales. 52gb on PS4, while being 50gb on PS5.
Well with the PS5's ssd speed, that's a non-issue now.
i've pirated a lot ps4 games. it's all under 50gb
So the system can hold what, like 5 modern games on it? lmao
It'll still be bottlenecked by the disc or the network, dummy.
>not bad out of 825.
lol
You forget with comes with shitware, shovelware and trendingware preinstalled. Astroroom, Netflix, disney+, YouTube app, etc. Os doesn't take all that 100gb.
>for $500 Sony wouldn't even give its customers 1TB
GB or GiB?
Not if it's installed.
>I don't understand the issue?
a lot of games are starting to become 100gb+ each.
so if that trend continues, youre only gonna be able to have a few games ready to go.
personally i dont see it as an issue because i do uninstall games im done with, unless its a multiplayer game that i know ill come back to from time to time.
I don't see the problem, there's only like 5 games worth playing on the ps4
I don't think those are actually installed. They just put up those shortcuts.
only astro is pre-installed
For now. The average is going to be 150-200gb by the end of the console's life.
50GB more since the last leak.
>8:38
The guy is talking about HDR
what if you uninstall astrobot?
What if instead of storing games on hard drives with finite space, there was a way to store games on removable media you can put in and out of the console?
I doubt it. Harddrives require thousands of duplicates of assets to make the LOD work right just becuase of the way they search and speed they can output. What allowed game worlds to become huge was the huge amount of RAM the PS4/Xbone had for 2013. But I think games world sizes are hitting a practical limit rather than a technical limit and are unlikely to quintuple in size like they did this gen. COD is fucking dumb tho
He doesn't appear to know. He say "according to reports the OS takes up..." which is weird considering they most likely have a PS5.
You can copy games to a bulk external HDD or ssd and put them back on at a later date, at worst it’ll take all of 5 mins to copy and reinstall a game to the internal PS5 ssd.
But you can with the PS5 and even with the XSX too.
Most people download games now and disc drives can't search and read the data fast enough to compete with 50mb/s harddrives, let alone 4gb/s SSDs. Go back to disc based loading would be sending graphics and streaming tech back to 2008, loading screen around every corner.
The PS6 will have 32GB of RAM/VRAM, will that be enough to download complete games on it?
