Cool Gmod build OP

why is it inverted?

how does any of this improve my gameplay experience?

he had to set the time of day and light settings just to get this so yes it is a meme

>OMG RTX!!

I was expecting there to be a point in the video where he turns on ray tracing and it suddenly looks good

wowzers

this is way better though, nobody cares about full pathtracing in current year

honestly I don't see much of a difference between medium and ultra nowadays, they should rather focus on making games fun instead of looking realistic

Wow, i cant wait to play the next shitty AAA game no.624, but with pretty looking reflections.

That's how a camera obscura works IIRC. You need a lens in order to correct it.

i know its showing off the reflections but its a fucking riot how they're driving on the wrong side of the road

Is realism the death of every artform?

looks beautiful
shame the rest of the game looks/plays like shit

Hardware raytrace is just a very useful search function being used for retarded reflections and nothing else until people with actual creativity use it for better stuff.

i also ingest semen on an hourly basis

so it would seem.

You're coping with being poor.

Its fine but raytracing on minecraft is retarded

Pretty cool building exterior design honestly. Does it exist IRL?

On a camera, the image is effectively inverted twice - once by the aperture, and further back using the lenses.

How the fuck the floor is so reflecting

tbf it's set in bongland, rains all the time there

It does look really cool, but im fine without it right now. I might wait to see if they give us a 3080ti and see what the comparison of that to the 3090 will be. I'm open to ray tracing but with it id probably just stick to 1080-1440 I can't imagine the struggle to get all of that working at 4K.

in terms of visual quality, nothing wrong with games looking realistic.
the issue is when they use that and also make everything else relatively grounded. a game with near photographic elements that proceeds to go fucking crazy with it and include impossible shit would be fine but mild futurism is just boring.
if this shit was ultra-realistic but instead of bing bong cyberpunk was radical 80's hackerman shit with neon everywhere it'd be marginally different.

You've never seen fresh wet pavement?

It's not that far off

>ray tracing in a ubisoft game
people with 3090 say the game runs at 40 fps

game runs like shit but its not entirely due to raytracing, the game is just awfully optimized in general.

Only good example ive seen

You seem to know what you're talking about so i'll ask you. Isn't the same thing true for the human eye, that our eye flips the image over or something like that?

Attached: ENHANCE.webm (1280x720, 2.98M)

yea actually
our brains flip the image right way back

The aperture of the eye flips the image over but rather than using a corrective lens, the image is simply shone inverted into the optic nerve and the brain translates it to what you see.

Not him but yes, the same thing applies to the human eye.

so are we upside down all the time?

wait a minute
the world is actually upside down but we don't percieve it like that?

what if there's someone who doesn't have their eyes flipped from birth. would it be possible for them to notice?

>dude my realistic lighting will make me land more abilities in LoL, and will make the dance of combat in a game like Dark Souls more fluid

Honestly that's so fucking cool. It's amazing how we just function and do all of these things without thinking about it

man im poor and i fucking WISH i had an rtx graphics card

the world is not upside down
the light coming into the receptors of our eyes is

We arent upside down, but our eyes are

One study found that if they used a lens to flip people's vision, after some time of using it, they would stop seeing it inverted, meaning that their brains were able to do the flipping.

So if they took said lense of after the experiment everything would be upside down again? that's wild

Attached: z3bh80y86pu31.jpg (732x735, 115.33K)

here's what i'm thinking of right
what if someone's brain didn't flip it to begin with
like they just saw their down as your up and vice versa
would you ever be able to tell? how do I know that I'm not actually seeing the world upside down, but because everyone around me acts like it's normal and the language of "down" and "up" are what i perceive it to be could I possibly notice?

Wait you can actually make a dark room with a hole and have light traverse inverted with ray tracing? Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thats actually amazing

That's exactly what happened, until the brain habituated again.

yes, pic related
