Non-linear exploration

>Non-linear exploration
>Intertwined gameplay systems that lead to creative and unscripted gameplay sequences
>Next to no interruptions to gameplay in the form of cutscenes; any notion of narrative is largely handled through gameplay
>High levels of player agency

So an open world Titanfall 2 or something?

To me is just that the game has good gameplay, uses said gameplay on good ways and a good amount of content.
Lore and atmosphere can suck my dick.

What games do that right?

Found the movie game fan.

Don't even know who that is.

Terraria? although it's not the most atmospheric of games by nature of being quite simple looking, can't compare to something like SotC
also Dwarf Fortress, but again, no atmosphere, depends if you have autism so you can see it in your mind though
struggling to think of more

Outer Wilds

Breath of the Wild.

also Kenshi, technically the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games since they have very little cutscenes, Caves of Qud might apply more than DF since it's way more atmospheric and fits all the other criteria

SaGa

What is this about? Metal Gear Solid V?

what's the best one? where to start?

Saga Frontier 2

You can go with the ones released on steam.
Then you can pirate Last Remnant because Squareshit removed it from steam so they can sell you the pc version for ps4 at a higher price.

I don't think that would work as well as people might think. Titanfall 2 works so well because of really intricate level design working in tandem with the movement system. If you want a *rough* approximation of a sort of "open world" Titanfall 2 would work, you can check out the Halloween event for Apex Legends. In it you get the opportunity to play as a zombie who can wall run and double jump like a Pilot form Titanfall. But all this occurs in a space that isn't really designed for wall running. The effect is you feeling disabled in most areas or slightly frustrated that there aren't more walls to bounce off of. Sure you can counteract this by designing a map around wall running but then you have a different problem. Of everything being one giant stagnant city. Most of which will end up feeling like wasted space that you run by at 60 mph.

I want to stress that this is not a bash on Titanfall at all. I love Titanfall *as is*. I've bought 2 multiple times on multiple systems for multiple friends and I always have a great time playing it. 2 is a damn near perfect game. As I said, I just think the reason it works so well is the intricate level design that would end up wasted or undercooked in an open world.

botw does it precisely wrong, the korok spam is attrocious, the sim-samey shrines and rewards for completely them suck donkey konga
the answer is Morrowind

It actually does it precisely right.

absolutely not
it is lacking everything that makes for a good video game, it might be a decent time waster when you carry your switch around, but it is meh otherwise

It has everything needed for a good video game.

Rain World, Dark Souls, Outer Wilds, The Witness

I love Titanfall 2 so fucking much.

What’s your issue with the exploration in Dark Souls?

Reminder that we'll never get a third.

Yeah. I've accepted it. Nu Respawn would just fuck it up anyway. Better that than it ending up like every long running franchise ever.

You could just say Bloodborne
