Why japs don't make anime games today using 80-90's style?
Why japs don't make anime games today using 80-90's style?
Because hand drawn animation takes a lot of effort. Computer animation is much easier.
/thread
do u realize that picture is fan art made on a computer?
because it's not the 80s or 90s
that doesn't stop indies from making retro games.
what is happening in this picture
Not sure, would be cool
Someone turned me into a carrot... Oh my! Haha
Because japanese devs that aren't AAA don't have the resources to take risks, a recent game that had what you call "80s-90s anime style" is Captain Tsubasa RonC.
That isn't "80s/90s" anime, that's just trying to ape sailor moon
>80s style
Literally still being used today depending on character designer.
This game was a blast, but I wish there was just a "season mode"
tfw i'll never be in the place of that carrot
No I didn't, it looks really good. I assumed it was like some weeb cuphead thing. Looking more closely at it the eyes look more modern and I'm pretty sure such a pronounced bulge from the leggings is more modern too.
What, was it "root" for me to intervene?
What is the "root" of your problem?
Shall we get to the "root" of the situation?
T. redditor who needs to fuck off back
Well it IS based on a modern design
Not addicted to nostalgic aesthetics like the entire western word
>Sailor Moon
>80s/90s
Pick one
No need to "uproot" the situation
Personally I just miss depth in shadows on the face instead of weirdly 2D looking faces on highly-rendered, almost 3D looking bodies
disappointing.
People who like 80s anime are the same onions-chugging fedoraniggers who listen to synthwave
my zoomer cousin said he cant handle watching anything in the 2000s or before because it just looks TOO old
prepare for any of that aesthetics to be destroyed in the next decade or so and replaced by kyoani bloom
And do you have any idea how many hours this person spent to create one single frame on a computer to make it look hand drawn?
I'M CARROT RICKKKKKKKKKKKK
they just re-tweet gifs of anime doesn't mean they really watch them
Well that was quick
I love traditional animation. Both western and Asian. It oozes soul, while even good computer animation has a whiff of soullessness to it.
Gonna need that in English, doc
Based zoomeranon
You might as well ask why the west doesn't have more games that look like Cuphead. The answer shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I'll level with you though, animation corner cutting is looking less and less appealing every year. As for the preference on artsyle, that's 100% subjective, and totally acceptable to like both in equal measure. In my esteemed opinion, nip cartoons were in their peak between the 90's and 80's especially when they tried to emulate foreign concepts like sci-fi, cyberpunk, and medieval fantasy. Japan does great when they draw inspiration from without. When they take from within, we get horribly stagnant and boring low quality moe, slice of life, garbage.
FPBP
also zoomers would complain “eww this looks old!”
Thank you for saying this, this has bugged me for ages and I could not figure out what it was.
And yeah it's really off putting when the body is super detailed and then the face is super cartoony
this
I love rewatching old Disney movies from the late 90’s. Then 2000 happened and everything sucked
Give him the epilogue episode or Wild Cards episode from Justice League. We'll see what he has to say about that.
If he is not moved by it, then I suggest you disown him for good.
That particular form of animation is literally about to be extinct. There's a tiny handful of people left who could teach it, and everyone is too ADHD or lazy to go that route. Granted, the financial return would probably not be what any modern business is after. This applies to all art forms in some way. What a shitty existence we have.
because we need less shit like pic related and more shit like modern anime
Kyoani bloom is old news by now, I already see people saying that Haruhi looks dated.
>almost 3D looking
If that's the way they look, it is probably not almost. They have been using 3D models to create scenes for mango as well as anime for a while now. It's quicker and easier.
