It did what every other good Star Wars game did: rip-off better games
white male protagonist
it started with solid gameplay, then built a star wars game around it
protagonist was basically the weakest part of the game, decent waifus though
Nothing. It's just a cheap ripoff of Dark Souls.
Soulslike with checkpoints.
>wasting a minute running back to the boss
Souls games aren't complete shit, but they have some major flaws people mistake for "difficulty".
Super cute twink redhead protagonist.
>star souls
Nothing.

Notice how most good Star Wars games use mostly all original characters and expand on the existing universe and lore
I mean the gameplay is important but look it's just guns swords and spaceships at the end of the day it shouldn't be difficult to get it right
>soulless ginger
>white
It was basically an irish man without the accent.
Ninth sister felt like it was made to be male but then some SJW in production forced it to be voiced female and it sounded atrociously bad.
I thought it felt great to play. You are just a guy with a laser sword and mild telekinesis powers and you can believably fight + defeat anything from armies of soldiers to alien kaiju. And then still the hardest things to fight are other Jedi. I loved the fight with the old mad Jedi on Dathomir
they ripped off a popular genre and made a Soles-like. the only problem is Soles games suck a water buffalo's diarrhea asshole, so this one was abysmal on top of having cancer (((Disney))) writing.
It embraced a comfy, wholesome '90s brand of Star Wars without the glaring self-awareness and cynicism it's currently laden with. Also ripping off Metroid and Dark Souls was a neat idea despite it not being as good as either of those series. It also looked really good.
is there going to be a sequel?
They added some free content after release, so you know it sold well. They probably go for a sequel.
Meh game. Story was terrible so we're the characters. Took the story nowhere. Did I mention how boring the protags were. Mediocre dark souls gameplay with a linear tree. Saber design was cool but that's all Disney can do is make cool designs probably stolen from another artist, when it comes to soul there is none.
Not ripping off Force Unleashed. Cal's story doesn't hurt original trilogy at all too.
The entire story just felt like filler, would have worked better as a tragedy like Rogue One with Vader murdering everyone at the end
Instead the protagonists survive and instantly give up on the goal they spent the entire game working towards
Tried to copy bloodborne and sekiro, but ended up being "imitation food" with a weak suboptimal story. Good art direction and star wars universe if your into that.
I havent played it since last year but I seem to remember that you always restarted at the bonfire-thing
Except they don't.
>Rogue Squadron series
>Jedi Knight series
>Podracer
>Lego star wars
Those games all use canon characters and are great. I can't think of a single game using an all original cast that wasn't shit.
They got /ourguy/ right. He should have been in it more.
Ninth sister was always female user
You DO realise she originated in something before the game right?
A sequel was confirmed almost immediately. Fallen Order crushed its targets.
The boss fights were awful and highlighted glaring issues with the game. I simply stopped playing at one boss fight that was a fair way into the game because I stopped having fun. Doubt I'll ever go back to it because in hindsight the game is shit. In the age if Disney Star Wars it's a superb entry to the Star Wars franchise, but that doesn't mean it's good.
It's a fine game but that's all I can really say about it. The gameplay lacks depth and a lot of the force abilities feel really tacked on. In terms of story placing it in that time period means nothing much is going to be achieved which we know from the start. Also Cal doesn't feel like the main focus of the plot, instead Cere does which sucks from the player perspective.
It makes no qualms about ripping off its gameplay inspirations - Dark Souls, Metroid, Zelda and whatnot - and putting it all together into a serviceable package dressed up in Star Wars. The story itself doesn't step on anyone's toes and is fulfilling, especially for being a rare deep dive into the mind of an Order 66 survivor. It's good for one playthrough, but otherwise, I liked it.
combat was adequate
Merrin
end of list
>>Jedi Knight series
you retard
>Areas are fun to explore and it's even more fun to return with new powers.
>Force Pull and Force Push are used well in combat with Purge Troopers resisting them.
>Bosses aren't that hard on their own but in the challenges it's rough, especially when you reach Inquisitor Cal.
>You get to kill that one droid from Rogue One and they insult you as they hit you.
>Lots of platforming.
>The Vader escape where you're all pretty much powerless.
Honestly, it was way better than I expected since I remembered people at launch constantly complaining about things. It felt like I was exploring in Metroid Prime for a lot of the worlds, but I can definitely see where the complaints are coming from like weak Lightsabers even with the upgrade, really tanky regular enemies, you only unlock something that does good damage (The dual saber attack) like right before the end of the game and it requires a lot of Force to use, and the mech bounty hunter nor the grenade launcher one aren't fun at all.
