Such a waste to get monitors now. They are so behind the curve, literally zero good options if you want HDR because 90% have zero dimming zones and the other 10% doesn't have enough. The label is just slapped on because the screens can get bright but that's literally meaningless without zones.

The only perfect tech right now is OLED, except for the fucking burn-in which is assured with windows/browser UI's. Not to mention only NOW are we going to get some of the first HDMI 2.1 monitors (which are shit in the ways I explained above so who cares).

Why is dual layer LCD so expensive and why is microLED only coming out in a decade? Fuck. At this point I just say fuck it to burn-in and I'll get an OLED but even then LG's smallest one is 49 fucking inches.

I'd still get it just in case there are some Japanese games that you can't get anywhere else. The Series X is still good for playing Xbox exclusives and games from the 360 and OG Xbox era, you can't deny the backwards compatibility is good, and when people start getting their hands on it and start testing the games it should give you an idea of where you stand.

Switch is a must, even though it's the soiboy's console of choice Nintendo is still the last traditional video game company standing, and they still heavily support physical copies of games and for that alone they should be supported. Although the hardware is not up to snuff. If they had something that can consistently play at 60FPS even at 1080p I'd buy that in a heartbeat. But as it stands their current hardware is just too weak. If they made an upgrade to the Switch I'd buy that.

PC is PC. Always about dick measuring contest, most of the games are digital which is a huge negative despite PC having the best boxed copies of games. Steam is shit, but then again you get games that you'd never find on consoles to begin with. I'd say don't be a fan of platforms and be one of games.

You’re mostly looking at Re;Fantasy, Persona 6 , and games from Vanillaware. Everyone else has jumped ship or gone multiplat due to their insane policies, and P4G’s success may have SEGA consider making their JRPG devs port more stuff to PC, Switch, or even Xbox.

While I’m certainly not defending them, Steam seems to have a higher ceiling than any of the console platforms, considering they only tend to go after full on Eroge. Also, you’re not just limited to Steam on PC. You could get that kind of game on Fakku, Itch.io, or even off the dev’s site, in some cases.

That is true, and while I do think that giving money directed to the developers if they sold their games through their site, it is quite unrealistic since the vast majority of PC games don't venture outside of Steam, which is why I generally say it has done more damage to the platform. Either way, we'll see what the future holds, because right now it isn't looking very good. Everything is being censored left and right. And politics is weaving it's way into everything. But let's not start getting into that right now.
