Sometimes. At one point I played Mario Party 8 and Tetris Party with my mother, and later on I'd look on and assist my dad in playing and understanding BotW on the Wii U.

Dad tried a few games but quickly gave up and said they games were too much for him to handle. He did say Mario 64 blew his mind when he first saw me boot it up years ago when it first came out. He gave that game a solid try (for him it's about an hour's worth). As for mom, she tried 2 games. Ms. Pac Man and Wii Sports. We havent played Ms. Pac Man in a long time, but I remember her being LEAGUES better than me. As for Wii Sports, it was Wii Sports.

Tried to get my dad into Halo when I was a kid, but he just wasn't able to immediately grasp the idea of moving and controlling the view with two separate thumbsticks. Didn't even get a chance to get to buttons before we both called it quits. Been trying to connect with him lately by watching and discussing old action movies.
