wasn't it supposed to have over a million lines of dialogue?

Has every DQ game been translated yet?

Yes

and I'm going to skip all of it

OP may have meant 1k pages, as that's clearly a lot more than 1k lines' worth of paper in the image. There could be a million lines in that.

Is that supposed to be a lot?

It has way more than 1 thousand lines

You do know games that take more than 100 hours are shit right?

A thousand lines of dialogue is nothing, especially for an RPG. MGS1 probably has 1000 lines of dialogue

1000 lines is like 50 pages.

...

I knew a guy who would skip over everything he possibly could in a video game. He is a miserable fuck.

>1000 recorded screams of burned out employees

I actually find myself doing that in modern games where I can actually kill anyone. I basically "finished" most Baldur's Gate 3 story arcs in the current version by killing basically everyone who even mildly pissed me off.

1k pages still isn't that much

O-ONE KAY LINES?

>half of that dialogue will be just lecutreing the player on LGBT issues and how they should vote for biden.

dialogue in newer games isnt worth reading for the shitty american sociopolitics that is shoehorned into everything

Hades has an absolute fuckton of dialogue, all of it's good, all of it is gorgeously voice acted. I never saw the devs bragging about it for publicity before launch.
Judging by what we've seen in the trailers, none of Cyberpunk's will be good. Quantity for quantity's sake is worthless, that's why so many of these open sandbox games are so terrible.

what am I looking at here?

writing will still be shit compared to a book, quality > quantity people

Cringe

1000 pages is only 2 normal packs of printer paper.
That is nothing.

WAN MIRRION RINES?
WAAAAAAAUUUUUUU

What's in the image is WELL over 1k pages. It looks more like 10k at least. But that's the Japanese localization, so take that with a grain of salt. For reference The Witcher 3 had 450,000 lines of dialog, how ever many pages that would be.

>A movie 8 years in the making has a script of appropriate length.
What did you expect?

a more modern, cleaner and practical way to store paper pages

the delay is to add "should have" to all those biden ads

One gunshot
Two *thuds*
Three cleaners

How much of it was cut out?

Script used in DQ7.

Now imagine how big the script could have been if they didn't have to pay for voice acting

This

1 Million lines of dialogue
8 years of development
Still not finished
Half of the features removed
Developers leaked it needs a huge day one patch to even work
What the fuck did they spend the money on?

All except the MMO and some of the spinoffs. There are a lot of Dragon Quest games.

I had a friend like that, what a retarded fuck.
He skipped everything, then if the game didnt tell what to do call it bullshit. Was an asshole in everything.

>Halo 2 had 40k lines of dialogue back in 2004

Doesn't legend of heroes games have a ton of dialogue.
