Why is this Phasmophobia game so popular lately?
Why is this Phasmophobia game so popular lately?
brown fingers in the steam screenshots
Because Phasmophobia is actually a co-op puzzle game
And that's pretty fun.
Even if it's a unity asset store rehash game, it's fairly fun and I personally cannot think of a ghost hunter co-op game as good, even despite glaring lack of content, as for why it's so popular right now, it's a twitchtard streambait game that gave streamers some scary moments for Halloween, beyond that I would say it has potential to be a pretty good full game after a few big content releases
you dont even hunt the ghosts, you just identify them and that's it
once again ecelbs play some generic shovelware and it becomes incredibly popular overnight
We better fucking get more content, there's so much room for expansion.
Cope and seethe
>keeps the tone and presentation as plain as possible
>no asymmetrical combat focus with unique powers/weapons
>prioritizes investigation and puzzle solving
>co-op rewarding
It's grounds for cozy fear tier, at least; buggy jank and all.
It's a good start. If the creators can expand on it it could make for a classic multiplayer horror game with more of a life to it. Some of my own ideas:
1.) More maps. This is already coming iirc.
2.) Better/More Ghost models.
3.) Improve ghost AI a bit
4.) Let players that die get to interact with spirit boxes to help alive teammates. Or let them be able to open doors and flicker lights or toss items. SOMETHING to make dying during a round not make the rest of the mission boring.
5.) Actually purging the house of ghosts.
by the time you get more content months down the line your favorite ecelebs won't be playing anymore, all their underage followers will lose interest, and so will you. such is the life of fotm.
Buggy unity jank adds to the game.
>Actually purging the house of ghosts.
How? You can't do that in real life.
All of this and maybe multiple ghosts
Great game but I don't have a whole lot of hope for it as it's built almost entirely out of assets and the code is spaghetti mess
I hope a successor takes the games concepts and expands upon them
Even with key-rebinds, there are a few downright dumb changes, like cycling through items automatically shutting off your flashlight.
I figured it'd be something related to things that started the haunting to begin with. Like the ancient bones you find. Alternatively they can keep it focused to puzzle solving but make smudge sticks and the crucifix more telling on how exactly to use them.
Hell yeah man more content the better right now, pretty sure the next "big" update or something is going to be adding more maps, I believe they were a prison an apartment and a manor if I recall also SLS camera is going to be fun
I hope the developers of Among Us make a Phasmophobia mode in Among Us.
I'm curious to see if/when they add more varied maps. The spooky buildings are nice, but I'd like to see how they might do a cursed forest, graveyard, or similar open space.
because giggles keeps shilling it
I always wanted a game where you play a monster hunter/witcher and hunt monsters using a bestiary, proper tools, and clues.
Like Monster Hunter but with less anime and with actual mythos instead of just big dinosaurs.
Thematically my favorite hunt in Mon Hun was the Leshen because of this.
It's your typical youtube-react game.
A co-op game with no mechanics whatsoever but plenty of reasons for streamers to go "aaaaaaaahhhhhh" over nothing.
It’s the FallGuys effect in action
Among us will start dying this month
How would you guys feel if the final release had a final confrontation type thing for each ghost type?
Like say you have to exorcise a demon by finding and using certain objects in a ritual. Or destroying a cursed object for say a shade or something like that. So the goal is to figure out the ghost so you know the method of getting rid of it.
And maybe trying any of the methods causes the ghost to go into super aggressive mode to discourage people trying all the methods before figuring out the type.
Have you played it?
It's pretty spooky.
Especially in VR.
Like in Supernatural.
You find an object the ghost is tied to and burn it.
Or if it's not a ghost you use a different method.
So finding out what type of specter is important in order to kill it.
If you try to for instance use in-game voice to exercise the ghost, it wouldn't work if it was a Jin.
For the type that feeds off the power for it's speed, you would have to have the breaker off first for the kill to have any effect.
despite it being streambait, it's a fun game to play with friends but with its current content it's becoming formulaic and I can see myself getting bored of it pretty soon. definitely has potential to be great so hopefully it'll keep improving with updates and more content
Genuinely a very cool game, hoping it gets more content/sequel
Compared to the FOTMs among us and fall guys phas is way, way better
Monster Hunter is one of the least anime Japanese games I've ever played.
I know, I still want less anime.
Hard to go less than zero.
