Nah Alatreon is better because he doesn't have that much bullshit except for DPS check, which you can pass comfortably with using kjarr or equipping elemental decor.

Still haven't beaten him because I'm waiting for my friend to get past his first phase cutscene. We cleared every monster before fatalis in coop, so it would be kinda shitty if I would leave him on the last monster in the game.

Well practice him while your friend is catching up, get to know where everything is, specially the the binders and ballistas, you main want to slot Heavy artillery gem since siege weapons help a lot in this fight, another tip I can give you and your friend is use smokebombs, you can use smokebombs for making fatalis lose aggron on you and then hit him or even better you can use smoke bombs so fatalis loses you and you can use the roaming ballistar or the regular ballista, make sure to get at least one head break, hopefully before the glowing chest phase and you can only do the real wall slam if fatalis is in his 4 legs stance so make sure his head is tenderized and wallslam him, if you wallslam while he is in his 2 legs stance he will just shift to four legs, anyway good luck to you and your friend, its not as hard as it seems.

I can clear his second phase almost everytime now, but leave not long into the third phase so I won't complete the special assignment.
I dunno why, but my friend can't do shit to him with his LS.
I myself went through the whole game with GS so I don't really know the effective LS playstyle.

I think it might be his mindset, he is most likely trying to rush it so he can go coop with and he thinks he can't do it, this makes him play in a way that makes him too vulnerable to most fatty attacks and if he tries too much to be away from fatty he will eat a cone or fireballs and if he thinks he is not dealig damage he will just keep hitting fatty is backlegs(bad hitzone) until fatalis use his charged blast that usually one shots or he use that flamethrower aiming at his belly while your friend is attacking and won't react fast enough to get out

Hitting legs or tail is okay to hit your spirit roundhouse but every single Spirit Healmbreaker needs to be hitting fatalis's head.

Eh, you have cannons, dragonator, ballistae, rotating minigun ballista, uneven arena with a lot of points from where you can jump attack him.
Alatreon was a lot harder and ran around a lot more than fatalis.

Ocasionally yes, but the priority is either hitting head then chest/belly and then front legs, the problem with some weapons is that while they try to hit fatty is belly they might actually hit his hindlegs

If its the one aiming at his belly you can clutch into him and then delay the claw attack, if you talking about that one that he does when he is in his four leg stance you got plenty of times to dodge and you can clutch into him for a attack(depends on the side you clutch him), most of his flamethrowers attacks are safe to retaliate him, and you can grab him for a quick head tenderize attack

Alatreon is objectively easier because of long elemental topples, a slower more telegraphed moveset with massive 15 second openings on 90% of his moves.

Desu you can get 2 knockdowns from artillery. One in stage 1 and one in stage 2. You dont need artillery as a skill but it means you can miss and recover.

All that fucking endless crying of how casual World was, and then the moment there is an exclusive everyone sucks the living shit out of an even more casual side game with nothing but weebs aesthetics.

With artillery you can get the knockdown from firing only the first two cannons once each. Without artillery you need to reload after firing at least once, which can be annoying.
Also the extra damage you get from both the cannons and the roaming ballista is not insignificant. You can do around 1/3rd of Fatalis's health just with h. art boosted weapons in single player
