This. I played a DnD campaign once where my character was a desert dweller from a group of insular warriors who was banished from his tribe, wandering the world and being amazed at everything. He thought elves were evil djinn, dwarves were god-blessed craftsmen that he absolutely wouldn't hear anything ill about, and halflings were like children to be protected at all costs.
