If they're speedrunners then it's because they have the power of autism and I find that entertaining.
General streamers are boring unless they edit their vids correctly.

I watch speed runners for the same reasons I watch sports.
I also watch private server WoW arena because it's nostalgic as fuck and I don't to put in the hundreds of hours to do it myself.

Vtubers are extremely therapeutic if you feel like complete shit. Just hearing the right girl laugh can do wonders for your heart.

I used to think that's stupid, but I think I understand now.
I definitely like showing people things I like, like sending my friends music I enjoy, recommending games to them, or even here anonymously. That's the same things as watching other people's reactions to things you like.

Contrast with like Doom Eternal or something where you gotta focus and you're only occasionally interacting with chat, and it's easy to see why they play it.
