Name one remake that didn't improve the original

Black Mesa

HoMM 3

All of them
But especially this one, since it didn't even expand the story and the gameplay changes mostly make it worse outside of the UI being easier to navigate.

Reforged.

Literally every VN game

FF7R

demons soulless demake

sleep tight madoka

most VN remakes are pretty bad, the sole exceptions I can recall were Eve Burst Error A&R and Dokoku Soshite because they just re-used the same artstyle of the originals

Yu-No remake is a crime against humanity on the other hand.

I have yet to read a single word of praise for the majora's mask 3DS remake. It looks terrible.

>5th comparison
THAT IS FUCKING CRIMINAL

WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT REMAKE SHOULD BE DRAWN AND QUARTERED

Not higurashi or umineko

I'm glad she got better. Poor thing had serious keyface.

I have no idea what game this is but it has a serious case of old good new bad.

Some questionable decisions but ultimately larger drills = better quality. Nothing else matters.

ITT retro moeshit vs modern moeshit

Every remake made after the year 2015. Like Re2make, the crash and Spyro, SotC and so on from now on.

>larger drills = better quality
Drill lovers are men of taste, but that said the girl still got some downgrades like she got awfully thinner in the limbs.

I don't think the Crash trilogy remake was bad but the massive space requirement was my main grip about it. 30GB in total when the original PS1 titles didn't even go beyond the 1GB milestone is too huge in difference

seethe more. you're in the minority on that one. old ys was never good.

I am personally offended by how much worse the legs are in the new version.

I wonder why 90s artists were so prone to drawing the mouth so close to the nose. I don't have the Yuiichi chin image, but it kind of looks like that.

this will have to suffice.

Because in that style the jaw and lower lip would move downwards like how a mouth is supposed to move, rather than the modern style where the jaw doesn't move at all and the mouth opens up in a circle around where the closed line is.
That's the intent of the style anyway, in practice budget constraints would still leave the jaw not moving in a lot of animation anyway.

>generic 90s versus generic 10s
The only thing you can actually state that's objectively superior in old JP shit is coloring, because digital art still has a gray wash unless you specifically go in and tweak it.

That's more the 2000s artstyle with the extreme stylization
>there will never be a Kanon visual novel remake featuring Mitarashi Kousei's art with an exclusive aunt route
This timeline is so unfair
