The rest was pretty good.

I am replaying it now since the remake is soulless, and it's a lot better than i remember as a kid. The only issue is the combat, especially the melee is jank

I preferred a lot about it compared to gta 3, especially the wanted system.

tried playing this recently but all the characters annoyed the shit out of me. everytying about it felt worse compared to the first and way more tedious, and it suffers from feeling like an also-ran, like how they added stars to the wanted system to mimic gta more, even though they didn't need to.
