No More Heroes is so cool, much better than I expected. Thank you for recommending it to me.
No More Heroes
God I wish I had a switch
Is it just me or is it a little bit odd with how many newcommers are accepting NMH with the switch ports?
Usually when games like these get re-released it brings in a bunch of people stating that the game is awful and the fans of the original are just stupid contrarians.
I'm a little surprised. I would have thought the suda jank would have thrown a lot of people off.
So many people were convinced that NMH would not hold up and people will shit on it but the truth is: there is nothing like No More Heroes. Even its empty open world is even more refreshing today than it was then because of the overload of overfilled worlds with dumb objectives.
No More Heroes nail down being a no holds barren game with memorable characters, a banging music and a gameplay system that is exhilarating and impactful despite its simplicity.
This shit is pretty much a sophisticated arcade game that focuses on the more important parts of a game and it does it well.
These new people never played the orginals. They think the new glitches where in the orginal and love this.
But the ports created some irritating glitches that never was in the orginals.
NMH1 Port has random crashes.
Bad Girl boss mobs parry attack is gone.
Baseball job has made it almost impossible to get gold on because the game those not register a good hit.
Glitches in NMH2.
NMH2. 1 boss battle is broken. It makes you not able to controll your bike after the tutorial.
Im still lurking to find more problems.
The creator supports Rick and Morty, don't buy his games.
This year has sucked for games specially on switch, thats a factor to consider
>scour a game to find glitches
you are mentally ill
No. I want my ports to be as amazing as the orginal.
Glitches and problems like this makes the ports inferior to the orginals.
>THIS GUY WATCHES RICK AND MORTY THAT'S SO GAY LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
are you 16?
The Wii version wasn't perfect either user.
It's not really the same unless you are forced to make the jerk-off motion with the wii-mote a few times to recharge
I already played 1+2 on Wii, looking to consoom a Switch closer to the release of 3, grabbing TSA and doing a series marathon
I think a lot of people went in with low expectations. I mean, it’s an action game of the fucking Wii, how good could it be?
Instead they’re treated to 10 outstanding boss fights and excellent dialogue
well i finish finished 2, wtf was that ending?
you fall from a skyscraper, sylvia catches you, cuts to her working in a sex shop and travis comes for her.
im confused as hell bros
good shit user, you can also try the Kill the Past series if you're looking for more. They're worth it
which were your favorite things of the game, user?
Sylvia felt guilty after NMH1 and 2, specially about what she did to Travis and everyone else, so she ran away again after saving him. Became a phone sex operator, and Travis went to get her back in a scene that's a homage to the movie Paris, Texas.
>bad girl mob parties are gone
But you can literally parry the mooks like any other enemy and you can still bat them back to her when she hits them at you?
>baseball is impossible
It is literally not, I’ve gotten gold on all three or four of them
>nmh2 uncontrollable bike boss
The Japanese guy? What are you even talking about? I’ve had zero issues with both of these games beyond one crash after getting the Lovikov ball dash and that only happened once
>Bad Girl boss mobs parry attack is gone.
I thought so too, but I saw a guy on Twitter doing it with the Tsubaki II, I used III and I never managed to do it in this port
>homage to the movie Paris, Texas.
you know weirdly just knowing its suda making another obscure reference turned me completely around, now i like it.
Don't worry my guy i've played and beaten all Suda directed games outside of TSA and obviously Moonlight Syndrome. Killer7 is one of my favourite games ever.
Does the game get better? Because I am not really a fan.
I killed Dr. Peace and I haven't really been enjoying myself. The combat is fine. I don't think it's great, but it's fine.
It's fun to take control of a large group by crowd controlling them through moves and positioning and then cutting through all of them while your in control.
But on the flip side of that, when you're already in control I just feel like I am repeating the same basic motions over and over again with little to no thought or even pressure which I find extremely dull.
I am also not really a fan of any of the characters. The girls are sexy without a doubt but Travis's desire to kill people just comes across as alien and absurd and the two bosses I fought were just shit or annoying, the latter boss especially. As if I care about some opera singing cowboy baseball fan.
Oh and the open world stuff in between each task kind of blows. It just feels like a bunch of dead time in between every little thing you do. Like even accepting a part time job or an assassination mission and you have to ride your bike across town to get there even though the game could have easily just teleported you there or something.
This maybe wouldn't have been an issue if riding the bike was actually fun but it really isn't. You can't really do any tricks and the physics are extremely dull, and if you try to do something crazy or potentially interesting then Travis just falls off the bike and you respawn at the motel.
The parody stuff is kind of cool. The idea of some total nerd actually going as far as trying to live up to the feats and characters of the fiction he consumes even though he would have otherwise just been some nerd is both funny and kind of cool. But I don't really know about everything else.
>NMH1 Port has random crashes.
mine crashed as it was loading rigfht after i finished my final job to save up for the final beam katana... im back to zero.
If you're not enjoying it now, I doubt you will later. I'm only a little further ahead, about to tackle rank 7. The game does have a lot of issues with it but that seems to be Suda 51's thing. Games with a bit of an unconventional approach. You have to put up with the bad for the good.
You're not supposed to like Travis. He's an idiot loser going through the motions of both thinking it's cool to be super edgy and trying to pathetically getting a girl to fuck him. That's the journey. The boredom's part of it, and even things like his cool bike's just him trying to pepper up his boring life with things he thinks are cool. If you don't like it, then it's just not for you.
Sounds based. I definitely have to preorder the next game now.
It's Reddit
When is LRG announcing physical versions for 1 and 2?
You’re Reddit. Now fuck off
I plan on finishing up NMH and then 2, then Killer is Dead. I'm not sure if I'll do Travis Strikes Again right after all that but one day. I've already played Killer7 and loved it. Anything else I need to bother with for Suda51? I assume Lollipop Chainsaw.
The game doesn't really get 'Better', desu it always remains a janky, lovable beatemup where you grind minigames and explore a crude overworld in-between levels
But the best characters are still to come
Some people might go on about the themes of the story and characters flying over head with how you described dr.peace but desu it probably flew over their heads on first playthrough too
I hope Travis can turn himself into a pickle, it would be the funniest shit i have ever seen
If you wanna truly go into the lore, go for the Kill the Past trilogy (The Silver Case, Flower, Sun and Rain and 25th Ward), but besides that, you might just wanna go for Shadows of the Damned before you play TSA. Pretty much just that and you're set.
If you don't enjoy the combat and the minigames, the characters aren't gonna save it for you. Sorry user.
FUCK BAD GIRL
Why the fuck is this dumb drunk bitch so fucking tanky? Fuck her 1HKO too. I didn't even attack near her and that shit still registered as me falling for it resulting in me getting gently pummeled to death despite Travis surviving much much worse.
