When does it get good?
Alien: Isolation
If you have to ask them it's not for you. Move on and stop being a gay shit poster about it
I dunno i thought it was typical boring atmospheric fps and stopped playing. Bioshock ruined the fps genre
After the first hour or so, once you got enough tools and the game is done with its tutorial
Facehuggerbros where you at?
gets good on the 3rd mission and gets shit on 10th mission
Medical area, fairly close to the start
all the white men are evil and the nigger and gay robot are good.
Is there a mod to skip the dull as fuck flashback yet?
>When does it get good?
When you do.
dropped it after the 3rd mission. i thought based on what Zig Forums said that maybe people got too scared or it got too difficult but i think most people dropped it because they're tired of waiting for the scary part. the atmosphere is good at the beginning but you can run around everywhere because you haven't met the alien yet so there's no tension just because of that.
then you have to kill humans, which gave me flashbacks to colonial marines which i really wanted to love.
then after you first see the alien and you think it's gonna get spoopy, you have to kill robots. yeah the robots are creepy looking but they're just more fucking humanoid enemies.
by this point i was 2 hours in and very disappointed. i have no idea when the alien was supposed to turn up again
At the start. It gets bad after you kill the Xenomorph and the game keeps going.
It really doesn't.
The gameplay is the weakest part of the game.
This is where the good part starts
>you have to kill humans
No you don't. It's easy as fuck to dodge every human in the game. The Alien becomes a consistent threat once you reach the Med Bay which is where most people get filtered because of the sudden difficulty spike.
Try playing on Hard where stealth is a better option than fighting, and not being an ADHD zoomer
So does the Xeno just follow you around CONSTANTLY for the rest of the game once you finish the medbay area to get to Daniels and the British chick or something? If so then this game is getting REAL boring REAL fast. This game just immediately devolved into me needing to bullshit the horrid xeno AI and bank on good luck the entire time. It’s getting really tedious.
>and the nigger and gay robot are good.
Gay robot?
if you haven't been to med bay yet, get through some of med bay
if you have been through med bay, just stop because you're just not into the game
Smooth brain take on the game
Waits was competent and was 100% right in not trusting strangers and being willing to sacrifice people to kill what he thought was the only threat
this
Waits was making the tough calls and had there been only one xenomorph he would have saved the day
To expand upon this, does the Xeno ever give you a break? Like a chance to breathe at all? I’m specifically at the part in the medbay where that one area with the road cones starts spewing fire.
The game is starting to get REALLY tedious, as the xeno is so god damn fast and erratic that I’m stuck waiting minutes on end, because it just fucking runs back and fourth to the same two spots five times, before jumping back into the airvent, only to fucking just teleport in front of me without making a single sound and instakill me, or spot me all the way across a mile-long room that the fucking motion detector said it was even in to begin with.
Please, PLEASE tell me it gets more interesting than this. also where the hell is that damn keycard for the door in that room on the other side of the fire?
This game just immediately devolved into me needing to bullshit the horrid xeno AI and bank on good luck the entire time
Sounds like you need to get good and stop brute forcing the game like a retard
>horrid xeno AI
actually it's quite good and every time I died I knew I had fucked up
I've never understood the tethered alien criticism because the other option is you walking around largely empty corridors doing your tasks without threat
or it's the one time the alien shows up, you die while in the middle of some task, and get sent back to your last save thinking "that was bullshit"
because the alien isn't a constant threat anymore, so you aren't being concious of your actions in relation to its location
>Sounds like you need to get good and stop brute forcing the game like a retard
Define “brute forcing,” as I’m definitely not doing that. I’m being careful to not run or even walk, but crawl everywhere and not make noises. The Xeno just has a fucking slot machine for an AI.
It's because if you're playing on anything above baby-mode the xeno has a like 10 foot tether to the player and will never EVER fuck off.
When you uninstall. It’s boring schlock. All you do is run through levels and flame an alien when it sees you.
>Move on
>get eaten by alien
MedBay is where I think it gets great but I enjoyed it from minute 1
doing a nightmare playthrough now and am constantly switching between shitting myself and ripping my hair out
You are aware it can hear the motion detector, right? Once you can see it you should drop the detector, if you hold it too long it will hear. Also NEVER run, only walk while crouching, Medbay is far from the hardest part of the game, you just need to learn to play around the alien
Most chapters he isnt' active from the get go. Game kinda has a formula where you go through an area with humans/androids and then the xeno is introduced half way through.
Maybe I just have the shittiest luck on earth, but for me the Xeno would just pop up in the most random spots, motion detector be damned, and spot me from the tiny opening between two boxes across two rooms via the STILL open doors, or miss me just hiding behind a table that wouldn’t even let me hide under it for some reason.
Play on NORMAL mode. Anything higher than that is purposely unbalanced for mashocists. You should never ever play a game on hard if it’s your first time unless you’re some autistic retard
>You are aware it can hear the motion detector, right?
Yes
I AM on normal mode...
game recommends you play on hard which I think is one of the things I don't like about it. so many people get a bad first impression because they play on hard and get to the door hacking part
the game was a blast on hard and I'm glad I stuck with it my first playthrough even through the difficult sections
>does the Xeno ever give you a break?
It depends on the level. At med bay it's up your ass almost constantly but that varies throughout the game
>waiting minutes on end
You shouldn't be
>without making a single sound
Now I know you're bullshitting. The Alien is loud as fuck even in the vents. You can hear it coming a mile away.
>where the hell is that damn keycard
On a body in one of the small rooms that only have one entrance (that also can be temporarily locked by pressing the button on the inside of the door)
Use distractions. Use the power things on the wall to set off alarms in rooms you don't need to be in or just bang the wall with a spanner and go the opposite direction to the alien
Ignore this retard. Nightmare is for masochists but Hard is the way the game is intended to be played. Anything less is for journalists
>you have to kill humans
The first time I played the game I got the trophy for not killing any humans, and that was on Hard. Zoomers WILL be filtered.
I didnt read the description for this game before i pirated it.
Expected a milder Aliens vs Predator.
Boy, was i dissapointed.
>the entire game is basically sitting in a locker with 5 second long sprints to another locker you can hide in
i cannot understand why this game received reviews higher than 1/10.
fun fact about that achievement: you can murder people indiscriminately as long as you trick the xeno or a working joe into doing your dirty work for you
This game would be great if the Alien wasn't fucking tethered to you, and only you, the entire game. Shit gets boring really fast.
Yeah, I did that a few times. Throwing a noisemaker into a group of humans and just waiting was pretty funny.
People who enjoyed Alien Isolation are the same people who enjoyed the new Prey.
For horror games you should ALWAYS play on hard first, unless you're crippled or you're a game journalist or something.
>the entire game is basically sitting in a locker with 5 second long sprints to another locker you can hide in
This is probably the worst method of playing the game I've ever read, and practically guarantees failure.
>The Alien is loud as fuck even in the vents.
Sometimes it does quietly camp cieling vents, but I believe you can see acid dripping down or something if you're paying attention.
The new prey is far better though? It’s literally just systemshock/bioshock. It’s what Alien Isolation should have been just a liiiiiittle bit more like. A tiny bit more gunplay/action and a little less just sitting and waiting.
