- Game will be announced at The Game Awards on December 12.

- Weapon Upgrade System reworked, it now takes less time to skill it.

- The game starts with a CGI cutscenes with the group travelling to Kalm and going into the hotel, then the flashback begins.
- The flashback works as an introducion to new player and you get tutorials. You can control sephiroth and cloud to see how strong sephiroth is.
- The game also ends at the arrival in Nibelheim wondering why it isn't burned to the ground.
- Yuffie will steal your materia as a plot point, you catch her after the mines before Junon. You only get a bit of materia back (balancing reasons)
- You will need to steal a chocobo however, there's no success in crossing the swamp cause:
- Midgar Zolom is a boss and the mythril mines are a bit bigger than in the og, aprox like the sewers.
- Fort Condor Minigames are still there. speaking of:
- Several mini games in Gold Saucer, including arm wrestling, basketball, g bike and the moogle game.
- Junon isn't much expanded, cause all the houses are in a straight line, you can explore the houses though.
- Cargo Ship is bigger and you fight jenova in the lower ship, there are also several cabines to get explored
- Gi cave about the same size, but bigger.
- Gongaga got expanded, dinosaur boss, more zack scenes than before.
- Cloud reanimating priscilla is now a cutscene, not a mini game (immersion reasons)
- Mr Dolphin is still there
- Corel Prison is bigger, you will have quests that you need to complete to meet the boss (dyne)
