Reminder that if you are not using a GNU/Linux system for gaming then you are the cancer that is contributing to the centralization and corporatization of gaming.

Yes. Linux is the future and there is no denying that. But until the OS revolution happens I'll be using Win 10 because it just works.

Sorry OP, I like actual GUIs and not Command Lines

What did he mean by this?

Why do people on /g/ make those CLI screens? Is it just to flex?

Those are ricers. You can make your workflow easier if you have a setup which does not rely on the mouse. But most people just do it to make their system look cool.

early 20's zoomies installing their first distro and since they've got no friend to brag to they do it on g
eventually since they can't play the new hottest game release they cope and just fall back to playing the same old game that either work in wine/proton
since most shit don't work out of the box they spend ridiculous amount of time scripting to either fix their machine or rice it (customize)
it's a feedback look where they code, watch moeshit anime, play same ass old games and only interact with the same kind of people
one day they'll order programmer socks as a joke and then
that's how AGP trannies are born

windows is a better OS

Nice try Richard.

>Gn*me
Sorry OP, I like actual DEs

I'm not the OP tho.

>linux
>arch
Only thing you're playing is with your nano penis you disgusting fatty.

neck yourself you fucking nerd

When the level of support on Linux is such that games and everything else are easier to install and run on Linux than they are on Windows, I'll consider it.

I use windows so I use a gui by cli is obviously superior and really don't take that much effort to learn

lmao

From user, not bragging right standpoint, what does linux do above windows? From what I saw from all linux threads its just an elitism circlejerk and noone really provide anything why its actually worth anything

he's right you know

and a literal who is reponsible for 100% of fud

Wake me up when it is able to run all those niche games I play

I mean true, but the windows GUI also sucks.
I think we have better solutions for interacting with computers than typing commands or using a GUI from the 90s, but the vast majority of people who make Linux shit are subservient to this backwards ass MS DOS lifestyle

It's simpler to manage and maintain once you get used to the command line tools. It's also superior for programming because of powerful in-built command line tools and the fact that the operating system does not try to hide things from you.

For the average user who just plays games and watches movies there probably isn't much of a benefit. But if you're the type to define macros, automate shit, etc. its incredible.

not kills itself, not eats resources and not forces you to use some shit and ass backwards decisions from 20 year old legacy

nothing
>not kills itself
it's literally the opposite

+not let's you do anything besides ricing your desktop and shitposting on /g/

I mean I see no problem with using it for system or networking set up. It's just not really user friendly to the masses.

well I was mostly curious about avarage user standpoint, thanks for actually answer my question normally unlike the guy under you. I'll wait with linux until windows goes absolute braindead and force something stupid on its operating system then

At least I have games to play.

For the average user it ONLY makes sense if you have an old laptop or a system with outdated hardware. Linux can run better on this stuff since you can tear away all the resource hungry stuff. I know some Linux fanboys won't like hearing this and will claim using Ubuntu is just as easy as Windows, but I disagree. And I say this as someone who dual boots but mainly uses Linux.

>install new distro
>customize your desktop
>slap some anime background on it
>neofetch
>post it on /g/
>get bored
repeat

call me when halo 1's fixed function mode renders correctly in wine

Linux is also great for networking and making shit secure because of how much freedom you have to lockdown the system from the start. It's just the initial hurdle of getting comfortable with cmd line and also the file structure of *NIX. But it's not user friendly to the general public.

>it's literally the opposite
It only kills itself if you are shit at managing OS, in which case move to Mac it's made for brainless idiots like you
Average user can do everything it wants outside of videogames. Stop pretending you work in professional software, no one on this site does

The final redpill is that all operating systems are pretty much the same.

I work in the software industry lmao

Why? CLI is much faster and easier.
Neofetch is just a very common and convenient tool for displaying system information.

>It only kills itself if you are shit at managing OS
So it does it naturally? You do know how package installing works right? Or are you a retarded brainlet who want to show off.
