What could it possibly mean? what does it symbolize? there are lots of "judged" figures around pyramid head. Does this suggest he punishes other people? he logically cannot since he is a shard of James' imagination. So what does the "remains of judgement" symbolize? who are the judged hanging figures?

It might be a real painting of an executioner that exists in SH. Maybe James saw it during his holiday. Or maybe Jung is right and there is a collective unconscious/archetype thing going on and it's being manifested in the otherworld.
