PS4 Peter conveyed the fact that he had been doing his hero sidegig for a while and it had clearly affected him. This ties into the other aspects of the story like his strained relationships and the work/life balance being difficult.

PS5 Peter is a purely aesthetic decision based on external media which is a pathetic attempt at "remaining current" instead of respecting the integrity of the decisions that were already made.
