It doesn't change my thoughts on the game: It's a lovingly crafted rock-hard platformer with creative level design and wonderful music, that's well worth playing.

Since this is just a wishful thinking retcon, and since the Death of the Author is a well-established concept, it doesn't change what I think of Madeline or the game's story either.

I played the game a while ago and that makes sense based on a few things I recall from the story. I really enjoyed the game and this doesn't affect my opinion of it at all.
