I hacked my 3ds, 2 of my friends and my sisters. Too bad one friend never uses it, the other friend had his battery explode and the replacement he got won't hold a charge and my sister only plays tomodachi life. Hacked it, played a bit, installed pirated DLC for a legitimate game (physical game) and then remembered that I have a DS flashcart filled with 8GB of DS games from the time I didn't hacked my 3DS.

TWiLight Menu++ is an app that can play DS games even without a flashcart. I think you just need to dump the roms into a folder

3DS hacking thread a few weeks ago convinced me to do it. Followed step by step and everything works great. Now I'm playing Fire Emblem for the 1st time. Playing the Conquest fan translation.
Only issues I had with the process was how many times I had to remove the N3DS MicroSD card, doesn't help that my only SD card reader is in an old laptop from like 2009, so the process took WAY longer than it should have.

also you can use ftpd to transfer files remotely

Look up setting an ftp server for your 3ds, its incredibly easy and great to send light stuff like roms or apps

A New 3DS is the best option you have since that one has an emulator made by Nintendo
An old 3DS handles SNES worse than the Vita
The Vita relies on shitty emulators that don't perform as well as they should and suffer from inaccuracies and sound issues too (depending on the game, some run better than others) which is a shame since the Vita is a really nice console to hold for classic games and the d-pad is perfection incarnate

if you are able to pirate ds games for your 3ds i would recommend freshly picked tingles rose ruppie land it looks really fun and ive been wanting to play it for the longest time it was only avalible in europe and japan though

Judging by the name and the cover I just googled, it sounds like the opposite of fun.

There's a lot of good games that the 3DS can play, not only does it have it's own library, but it can also play everything the DS had, and emulate a lot of Ninty's older titles too
