RE3 remake was disappointing because it was missing this puzzle.

Puzzles are a symbol of a more problematic age

And the rest of the clock tower, and the dead factory, and the grave diggers park, and live selection, and mercenaries, and a city that actually gives you choices about how to traverse it instead of them being setpiece corridors

Fuck bros what went wrong? Why did they cheap out on 3 when they did so well with 2?

I mean, why even bother remaking a game if you don't actually want to remake it?

Because re2 is a cult classic, and re3 is re3

>Why did they cheap out on 3 when they did so well with 2?
The remakes or the originals?

I disappointed me because this was the chance to truly make Nemesis an omnipresent threat. A killer koolaide man that would leave nowhere safe.

Instead we got a nuetered Spiderman.

Because they already cheapened out on RE2, they just happened to do so even harder with 3 so they could pop out the RE4 Remake sooner. These are not labours of love, they're products.

*It

RE3 remake was disappointing because they shit it out in less than a year

From a money standpoint it makes sense. Butter everyone up with a stellar remake. Dont bother dumping anymore money into the follow up title because you've already duped everyone into buying it at this point.

>Because they already cheapened out on RE2
This so much

Checked.

Also, you tryin' to be funny?

Is there any particular reason that zombies in RE2R are absolute tanks?

In retrospect the weird hitboxes and cutscene bites really were the shittiest feeling part of this game.

It wouldn't have worked at all with the level design we got anyway. It's not like the RPD but a series of constantly disconnecting areas.
The game goes for heavily scripted sequences and this is what you get. It's a real shame, specially considered how they went all "we saw the work done on Mr. X and we've one-upped it" before release. I guess he's more threatening by virtue of being able to run, but that's it.

I remember for this specific puzzle I came up with an autistic answer for the riddle. Amber fossilizes creatures of the past so it must go on the painting of the past. Crystal Balls are used to see the future so it must go on the future painting. The Obsidian stone must go on the middle then since its the remainder.

>It actually worked that way the first time and I thought I was a genius

Then I replay RE3 and find out it changes up each playthrough.

what is the lore reason for all these stupid puzzles?

That's not how business works, mate. You're not duping them and running with the money, you're an established company and you have to care about your image so people keep buying.
Here they went for heavy style before substance since that's enough to wow the dudebros that didn't even finish the previous game, it's good for leaving a good first impression. It's not so much duping but optimising your game to keep them buying.
RE4R will bring in the big money, after all.

Because old survival horrors were half PnC/adventure game.

That's really cool, user. I bet it must have felt great to have that work out.

that's not a lore reason

>The Obsidian stone must go on the middle then since its the remainder.
Heh.

different teams.

I've got this headcanon fantasy for Nemesis where you are in a classic safe room, mellow music, box, typewriter.. and Nemesis comes through a wall while you are arranging the shit in your box. No scripts. Think Eternal Darkness level dickery.

>RE1
Mansion designed to be a mad house
>RE2
Police Chief is an eccentric collector and the police department used to be a museum
>RE3
The clock tower, much like the police station, has been rebuilt and repurposed multiple times through its 100 year history, so anything goes
>RE7
The Bakers have lost their minds sealing off and locking away random bits of the house. The only sane member of the family happens to be a lunatic but also a genius that loves to tinker.

RE4, 5, and 6 have minimal puzzles that happen to fit the setting they are in.

Remake 3 had the same type of development as the original, but not the same team or mentality.

Puzzles missing was just one of the many things that made REmake3 such a disappointment compared to the OG re3 and the abit butchered REmake2. also would like to say is screw the person who ok'ed the REmake3 intro that was irl riot footage.

most of them aren't, this one in particular has the highest health in the game. the rest are manageable compared to the ammo you can find, and most have a way to avoid, incapacitate, or instakill.

did 3make even have puzzles? I don't recall any.

Zombie reaction to headhots is awful. Half his face is missing and he's still got half his life left.

Fuck are you me? I remember dying to this fuck even after unloading half a mag in his godamn face

Had 3 "puzzles"
1.subway pathing.
2.3 gem pedestal.(maybe not a puzzle?)
3. mid high low cure.

I very much believe that it's so you have a reason to play around with the gore system put in place.
You get to see all the fancy interactions like limbs tearing off, zombies breaking in half, their heads splitting open from a shotgun blast and so on.
While it's a shame that because of the tanky zombies we don't get to see the RPD really overrun like it was in the originals I honestly like them. They're tense in the "is it really dead this time?" way, while still being very manageable if you know what you're doing.
Makes RE2R a very enjoyable game to run, but I would have loved more enemy types.

Didn't someone clip through the environment and find an unused Nemesis model wearing the mask hanging around outside the RPD? I wonder if it was closer to OG RE3 originally and got shoved out the door half finished when the Resistance reveal got utterly shit on.

You're playing as Leon, you have a very nice shotgun at your disposal that oneshots any zombie boy.

I have a pistol. A pistol that shoots pellets.

When 90 percent of his fucking HEAD is gone. HE SHOULD BE DEAD.

video games finally have a realistic 9mm
