Why is it so rare for tv shows to portray video games acurately?
Why is it so rare for tv shows to portray video games acurately?
sometimes they get it right

Almost nothing gets portrayed accurately in movies. Think of all the movies where people sit down to eat, barely get a bite in and then leave as soon as the conversation is over - and that's eating, one of the most common human activities.
Right, pretty sure I said tv shows
Much like Zig Forums none of the producers actually play video games
This is the director's fault, the producers are the simps who pay $1,000,000 to have their girlfriend play a random waitress.
>what are you doing Sheldon?
>I'm playing super mario 64 on a poorly coded nintendo 64 emulator
>*BING BING WAHOO! *
>*laugh track *
Very little about tv is accurate to real life for various reasons ranging from it complicates shooting too much all the way to nobody gives a fuck. Pretty sure video games falls in the nobody gives a fuck category. They don't even portray driving cars accurately, something most adults do frequently in real life, and you're going to whine about video games?
BAAAAAMBOOOOZLE
Reminder
youtube.com
i think that has to do with the fact that modern tv/cinema is all spliced takes
eating the food would fuck with that
>not even using a lame and gay mouse
What a fucking pro.
clip aged like wine. Dexter had such good connections he was playing early access MCC years before it was ready for retail.
>he doesn't play quake 3 without a mouse
youtube.com
House MD got it right at least.
well, at least the sounds are nice, and so is the framerate, wasn't Quake 3 also somewhat intensive?
Not a bad example, although yeah, by the time Q3 was out it would be very hard to find someone not playing with a mouse
>ARE YOU WINNING DEX
>SURE AM
>I don't know what's real and what's a game
youtube.com
better times pre-2016
that's american consoomer cinema
That looks accurate
>Game is something generic like "Zombie Slayer 9"
>It's an extremely popular franchise in the show's universe
>Game is something generic like "FIFA 2021"
>It's an extremely popular franchise in the show's universe
is workaholics good?
Because TV shows are written by fat old boomers whose only first hand experience with video games is playing shit like Pac-Man and Atari, and hearing their kids talking about "The Fortnights".
Eh
>I'm beating super mario 64 with only 1/2 an A press
where do they come up with this trash?
because people who make money don't play video games
because copyright i assume
Because only autists with no life or value to society care about how a character in a TV show/movie plays video games
an a press is an a press. You can't say its only a half
Smoking is one of the most common but I'm sure it's because the rating agents would go wild. Character lits a cig takes one hit and just talks or never uses it for the rest of the scene
