But I just started...

Nevermind the losers. Keep up the good work.

You can't learn Japanese, it's over user!

I like having something to work towards

No. But realistically once you can somewhat read and listen to stuff in Jap, you don't even need to grind that much anymore.

I do the giving up

japanese is gay

It's hard to learn anything when you're an undisciplined bastard
and if someone handed me a loaded gun I'd probably do it

i already have

have not opened anki in a week. too scared to see how many reps I have to do now. It's over.

I feel myself plateauing with Pimsleur. It's reached the point where the only vocab I'm learning from it I could just as easily learn in an Anki deck, and any grammar left I plan on reviewing in Genki anyway

Feels pretty good. Really satisfied that it got me this far

I just started maybe 2 months ago, I tried to read some VNs with a text hooker but they filter the fuck out of me because the sentences are too long and confuse the fuck out of me, and the mouse-over dictionary can give me 50 definitions for a simple word and it's impossible to know which one is the correct one.

I'm almost 4 months in and I'm not anywhere near the point of reading VNs. Realistically at my current pace I'm hoping to be competent enough about half a year from now give or take a couple months

Patience, my friend

What the FUCK

Well if you don't understand a sentence or word in 5-10 minutes of googling and dictionary searching, just relax and skip the sentence.

Then in the future when a similar sentence or phrase shows up, you'll have new context to reference to better understand it.

Then how the fuck do you refer to a normal chocolate cake without fudge in nip? Wtf Japan?

Good, then that means you wasted little time.

I may as well have since all I do is hit up the flashcards when it's up. At least I recognize 人生 and 生きる a lot when I'm listening to my jap music.

I'm lacking in a reason to dedicate myself to learning Kanji. I'm already at the point where I can understand basic stuff, and that seems fine.

>slimy fungus (blue mold)
what the fuck. also, had no idea パチンコ can mean slingshot.
>チョコレートケーキの英訳を「fudge cake」
I don't get the grammar here. That を there doesn't seem correct to me, unless there's something implied I'm missing.
大当たり does indeed mean jackpot. What's so funny about it?
>絵本
I think it's a 説明書

>slimy fungus
what that's natto? I don't know japanese.

i know it might not be much but i just learned all the hiragana and feel proud of myself

Congrats on doing something that takes like 2-3 days at most.

I recently came across (and understood) my very first pun/wordplay/whatever you wanna call it. And it felt good.
