sex energy

Why are they still living in scrap metal shacks?

food

Potatoes and because of that, vodka. They eat like slavs basically.

fodd

Fenway Franks

Ass, because that's what this game is made of.

Bombs fell 200 years ago...

Why do they still live like this?

Noodles, haven't you played the game?

I thought they eat Salisbury steak, radroach meat, and muttfruit?

there's are farm in the town and they establish that outlying farms (abernathy, finch, and the waste processing plant) sell them food. Bethesda must have watched that video because they tried to answer the "what do they eat" question.

Fallout learns heavily into the barren wastland aesthetic of a post-nuclear-war setting, but nature works pretty fast when humans aren't there to maintain the terraforming

>Why do they still live like this?
americans have it the other way

Yeah, but why live in fucking tin shacks when there's bunch of perfectly fine if dirty buildings lying around?
I guess the stadium is a walled area, but if you look at several bandit camps in the game, they have built their own walls.

Noodles, Liquor and that's it.

Building walls is hard. It's easier to live in an established town than to make your own.

I don't like USA, but come on.

Primm, Nipton, and Novac have no farms, and no source of clean water, and rely totally on the NCR's trade for food, but the NCR only showed up in the region around 9 years ago, and we know from dialog that these towns existed before the NCR showed up, so what were they doing for food back then?

It's said in game that they live in there because they're paranoid about the Institute. They basically live closer together so that everyone can see each other and it makes it much harder for the Institute to replace them.

As for why the Commonwealth hasn't been cleaned up/repaired, an Institute Synth once infiltrated an important meeting between the leaders of all of the biggest settlements/towns and assassinated them, literally stopping the Minutemen and a bunch of other settlements from linking up and becoming a functioning government again. The Institute also butchered what was probably the third largest/most well defended settlement (University Point). The Institute really are the worst group with the worst reasons for doing anything.

Where do all of the construction workers go during the apocalypse?

>Primm and Milton
Both of them are basically rest stops on the way to New Vegas. They got money from travelers looking to spend the night and likely bought water and food from neighboring towns. Primm is also the headquarters of the Mohave express, so they for sure should be getting enough money to buy the necessary recourses and Milton is less than two miles from a Brahmin farm.
>Novac
>no farms
Untrue. There are Brahmin herders literally in the town. As for other stuff, once again, their town is the safest way to the Strip. They make a living off of renting apartments and selling what they scavenge.

It's hilarious how badly scaled and made Bethesda towns are. It's revolting.

>heres your main city
>2cm long

ATMOSPHERIC

>could've easily made a quest where lone survivor helps take back downtown Boston so people no longer have to live in fear
>nah, just keep everyone in the shitty baseball stadium with their shoddy aluminum and duct tape houses
I think what kills me is that after 200 years you can't possibly tell me that absolutely nobody bothered finding books or any material regarding carpentry to try and make a better future for themselves. Pretty sure the fallout nuked the east coast's brains because everybody on that side is either retarded or lives a retarded way of life.

What's funny is it doesn't even look good. Even if not much time had passed. The fact everywhere looks the same is funny. Bethesda are so fucking lazy.

There's literally a farm in the outfield. You can see the corn and brahmin in that pic.

Tato, mutfruit, noodles.

I liked how I became leader of the Institute and could do fuck all.

>Primm
probably trades with goodsprings
>Novac
lmao retard
>Nipton
not sure

niggers

It's especially funny since the interior of the stadium/underneath the stands is fucking huge with existing power infrastructure and could house people way more efficiently.
but they decide to build their shitshacks and towers in the only sort-of farmable (not really with the dirt they use) land.

The thing that they're afraid of is the Institute, dumbass. They're not living in Diamond City because they're afraid of Supermutants, Raiders, or Ghouls. They're living there because they don't know where the Institute is, where they come from, or even how they replace people; so they live in the one place that has walls that can't be scaled, is easiest to defend, and only has one real entrance. Also, do you really think that nobody has every suggested branching out and taking back a few city blocks? The mayor is literally an Institute Synth and has likely been holding the people back for decades.

There's some mod that adds a shitload of stuff to Diamond City. A red light district, a scrapyard, a "high roller" district up in the stands. You can even go into the areas under the stands and all the service tunnels to turn on generators and stuff, but there's about ten thousand ghouls down there.

Actually makes DC worth visiting.

So what you're saying is, after sending the Institute sky high at the end, I'm STILL not allowed to expand on Boston for fear of something I blew to fucking kingdom come and has no way in hell of recuperating?
