Holy based. The first game has some obvious issues but ultimately it's a great action/horror rollercoaster romp that's constantly throwing new scenarios and setpieces at you, even if some of them don't land all that well. And the combat has a decent amount of intricacy and neat idiosyncrasies going for it that set it apart from RE4 & friends, matches being an obvious example. Picture my disbelief then when I found that the sequel shat all over or just got rid of pretty much everything that made the first game what it was. Yet all the moronic mongoloids on the internet were heaping praise and calling it an IMPROVEMENT. Apparently rummaging through garbage bins in the suburbs and stealth killing braindead enemies is considered riveting gameplay these days. At least the shooting gallery minigame was fun.
