Didn't Artyom talk in between levels in the first game? Does he do that at all in Exodus? Also, Artyom does say "okay" in the first game in the first level while exploring his station. It's really hushed but it's definitely there, it happens when you find a dude reading a book and the dude says "Hey Artyom, sorry for being late with your book, I'll get it back to you as soon as I'm done".
It's just a simple "okay" but it is there.
