Could you elaborate on the comparisons? I've played a lot of Isaac and now I want to get into either NT or EtG having only played each for like an hour so I would appreciate a primer on what both are like later on

NT: Some randomness, but pretty clear progression in terms of enemies + guns. Powerups come at a reliable pace and eventually end. You can loop endlessly in theory, with the game getting continually crazier, until it pretty much can't handle how much is going on at once:

EtG: One character has melee, but the game is built with much more flexibility. High randomness in terms of guns, passive abilities, active items, and synergies. Unlock system means that, unlike NT, what you see in early runs is not what you get, and what the game allows you to do scales long-term across runs with your continued play and accomplishments.
