GI is about grinding. Grinding chests and mats is all you do in the over world. You easily teleport away or climb over small mountains if you need to.

It's just looks, there are some beautiful locations around in the game but that's it - it's a nice picture. The world is not dynamic as it is in BotW, you don't need a certain warm outfit to traverse icy lands. You don't need to deal with lighting coming from the sky slapping your shit. You don't need to adapt in GI's over world.

The gameplay of GI isn't embedded with it's world seeing you will be doing fetch quests and killing mobs quickly. The gameplay is very isolated from it's world. The world is nothing but a space where you can grind. It's a typical Chinese product, it has no soul, no own creativity. It's like those places in mainland China where you can find a copy of some old European church or castle.

There is no fun to be had traversing the lands of GI. Except for the ambiance and vistas.

You need to kill a big elite mob for metarials? Go teleport.
Need to do a daily? Go teleport.
Need to do a dungeon? Go teleport.

The BotW look is just there to mask what this game is - a grindy gacha game.

Having played both, I still think BoTW is the better game. It's more polished and has none of that gatcha shit.

Genshit impact is just botw but with mmorpg tedium for bugmen to enjoy and without the sense of exploration and adventure.

I've actually started replaying BotW again after trying Genshin for a few hours.

gameplay, characters, story, customization are better in genshin impact. exploration is about the same for both.
