You're not going to get any games that take advantage of the new SSD and it's capabilities until years into the gen as long as developers tether their dev cycles to that 8 year old hardware. It's just last gen in 4K right now.

Even my ultra consoomer friend, who has way more money than he knows what to do with, works as a Geologist, is married to a nurse, and lives in a real cheap place, isn't buying either of these new consoles.

AAA games will have even more bloated budgets and teams. Gameplay will be even worse. Monetization schemes will be even more predatory. Indie devs will not give a single fuck and continue making the best games in all important genres. Honestly, why does anyone care at this point?

because eventually all the indie and japanese devs are gonna drop the old generation and develop for the new generation, i have no choice but to move on too

Funnily enough, they're one in the same.
Hardware raytracing is just a search engine that tells you which triangles get intersected by the line A-B.
The gazillions of triangles thing of UE5 is mostly using RT to decide which triangles to be drawn on the cloud of triangles instead of trying to push all of em thru the T&L pipeline and getting fucked.
