I disagree. As long as your repair skill is good enough and you get the jury rig perk all the guns in the FNV feels pretty different once their condition is improved enough. Honestly the rate at which weapons degrade in quality and how difficult it is to repair or maintain very simple weapons in the game is kind of immersion breaking. I haven't found a mod that's overhauled the repair system so that you dont need 75+ repair to enjoy the guns in the game

Look up Alternative repair. Lets you make (and even buy) parts that act like it was a 0 durability jury rig item for categories. Notably you only need high repair if you want to reliably make heavy weapon parts or such. Also lets you break down some junk items for scrap used to make said parts.

I remember GRA weapons being very expensive too.
I just kept using the .50 AMR and riot shotgun because literally every other weapons are peashooters without crits or the reloading bench tedium of crafting OP ammo in small quantities.
