She doesn't like being talked down to or underestimated, things she blames on her femininity and age, but she eventually realizes she doesn't actually want to be a man. She wants to be respected by her colleagues and friends, and she doesn't need to change herself into something she isn't to earn people's respect.
Can someone tell me where the transgender narrative even came from? Are people that desperate to project onto preexisting characters instead of making their own?
